I have a couple things to add...

As far as break outs go...I'm in my late 20s and since I've been on a gluten

free diet I have noticed that my acne has cleared up tremendously. I was

beginning wondering if it ever would! My dr. told me a long time ago to stop

eating chocolate but that never helped...getting rid of gluten seems to though.

I have to laugh at the people who think that white bread and other stuff is

not made of wheat. Since I've been able to bake, I've realized what these

products are made from. I have a story. A new lady was watching the children

in

our nursery at church during the service. I packed my daughter a snack as I

always do because the nursery only has Goldfish or Graham crackers unless

someone brings something else in. My husband took our daughter to the nursery

and

gave them my daughter's snack. When I went to pick her up, the lady asked me

" I know your daughter can't have the Goldfish because they have wheat in them,

but can she have the graham crackers? " I politely said no because they

contained wheat also. It amazes me that people don't know what their food is

made

of and what they are eating! When my daughter goes to preschool, I am going

to be so worried. Does anyone have any suggestions to help ease my mind and

her stomach.

Thank you to those who give us recipes. I have always enjoyed cooking

dinners and baking desserts.

Hi -

We've just transitioned to Kindergarten from pre-school with our little celiac. We had a great experience with our pre-school with everything from them only allowing gf playdough in our son's classroom to them modifying all of the "cooking" lessons to be gf. I think if you go in armed with as much information for them as possible & show that you are willing to help them adjust to this new situation you will have a positive experience without your child feeling like she is being singled out. Lots of kids have food allergies, etc. that schools have to deal with, so a celiac child shouldn't be made to feel left out or to be a burden to the teachers or the school. We were lucky enough to have another celiac child and a child with PKU diff. in our same class level, so the school opted to put them all into the same classroom, so just one set of teachers had to deal with all of the issues, and the kids were safer from cross-contamination, etc. due to the teacher's diligence.

Keep a good attitude and a smile & you'll be amazed at how much people are willing to do for your child!!! Also, the CSA has a brochure for you to give teachers, but I found copying big chunks of Danna Korn's book for them helped the most. Good luck & keep in touch, because I think we're all willing to help.

Hey Gin,

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it to you but I have a very hard

time reading your posts because of the graphic background you've used.

Just a heads up for you. Maybe you could scale it down a bit or go with

something less busy for a background?
