Guest guest
Hi Sharon that is what you have. Your my doc had me take a steroid treatment and that helped I think. My double vision did not go away shortly after the steroid treatment. It took several months after my treatment so I was never too sure it helped or if it just went away by it's self. I met several that had double vision with their MS and it seemed most of them the steroids did help them. I found using an eye patch helped a lot. Guest guest
I never knew that was double vision. lol Doctors have asked me over the years if I've had any double vision and I always say no. When I was still driving I would get that when I was really tired. I would be driving and have to keep shaking my head and blinking my eyes to clear it up. I am feeling pretty tired now and also feeling kind of down in the dumps, for some reason. This time it happened Sunday morning and again Monday morning. I had a busy weekend. Maybe that contributed to this time of double vision. Do you still have bouts of double vision? Or did it go away completely? Sharon Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.. Guest guest
Sharon While double vision is a MS sx. (nystagmus) but, I'd check with your primary dr. because it could be many other things like hypertension, diabetes, even thyroid issues, etc. It's so easy to blame all our symptoms on our MS but there are other reasons at times. My eyes are all messed up but know for sure it's my MS. Just my 2 cents worth. Hugs Terri Sharon Marsden wrote: I've never had double vision but I know some here have (like Bill). Guest guest
Sharon, I get color distortion, my eyes cross, or quiver and sometimes it seems like I'm looking through a tunnel, with the rounded parts blurred. But, they say there's nothing wrong with my eyes. (I do wear contacts, but my vision hasn't changed.) And it comes and goes. Haven't had a problem in several months. Trista double vision? Guest guest
Sharon, I also get blurred vision and distortions. I have to blink a lot to clear what I am seeing. I wear reading glasses but it happens even with them on. I did have what I think was an ocular migraine. It looks like you are looking through a kaleidoscope. It lasted for about an hour and then my vision cleared. I am heading to the eye doctor soon to check all this blurriness. Maybe too much reading…. Guest guest
I just LOVE this rich-text option for when you post from yahoo. I has been a life saver for me...smile* I am deeply involved in a couple groups where I am an owner and moderator in the other. When my brother ny died from suicide (2/01) I've felt it extremely important to put all my efforts into suicide support & prevention. So I'm glad it was brought up in in the posts about depression. I myself know of 2 people who's brothers died because they couldn't handle their MS issues. I felt so strongly about it that I had shifted gears from medical nursing to psyche. I had been accepted to Immaculata Univ.(PA) with my major being psych/social & was given schlorship (60%) with grants picking up the rest. The program was excellerated so I'd have gotten my masters in 18 months. I was so proud of myself and being able to show my girls that even old Moms can go back to school at 42!! My goal was to help so others didn't have to suffer like my family did. That high only lasted all of 2 semesters when my cognative issues nixed that dream for me. The information is still in my brain but am not able to stay on task to learn like I used too. Well, at least I tried right? Tomorrow afternoon I have an appointment to see my primary dr. for a general exam (ladies)..sorry guys and I plan on asking her to give me a RX for Cymbalta 60 mgs for me to get started on. For the leg spasms and also for the SSRI's that it has. I have been stuck in my dark hole for way too long and need to get some better to being a mom. My daughter is a senior in high school and the colleges are already calling. I need to be in a place that I can enjoy all changes that she and I are going thru. This should be a fun time for my daughter and me. Not like I am feeling now?? Sharon, sorry I almost forgot the reply to your question about vision? I have had so many hits to my eyes to optic nerves are "pale" from the attacks, colors are off, vision looks like when you pull off your sweater and look thru...(scatoma) I think it's called. I don't dare drive except when I absolutely have too. Steroids help for the nystagmus but I've had so much steroids over the years (25+) now I worry about my bones and osteoperosis Sorry this got so long but I guess I needed it...smile* Many Hugs Terri Sharon Marsden wrote: Terri: I have hypertenion and hypothyroidism--both under control.
