You need to find a natural

intuitive eater close to you to help encourage you, someone that you can watch

from time to time and get reaffirming guidance. You would see how the

intuitive lifestyle works and it would help you on your journey to

thinness.

My mother is a natural. So

whenever I think I am slipping or not quite on track, I think about what she

would do.

Just my idea.

I feel just that way. I feel like I've

" slipped " too sometimes. Then

I feel bad like, how the heck can you slip on being intuitive? :)

Honestly, I need to get back into the book and gain strenght

again....The whole eating what you want thing is throwing me for a

loop! :)

I've had a couple of slips (yesterday I ate --snacked-- until I was

around a 8 or 9... yuck. Felt sooooo sick!)

what it is, though). Anyway. I'm starting to see some places where

I've not been practicing IE fully, and therefore it's not

been " working properly " for me. It's probably why I'm at a stand-

still. But, I'll post more when I'm done the book. Probably tonight

or tomorrow (if I'm lucky! LOL)

Vivian--

I agree with Vicki on this one.

I used to work with this woman, her name was Maureen. Her and I worked in the same place for 8 yrs together and shared many, many meals. She was/is an intuitive eater.

We shared many lunches and her lunches would amaze me. This was a typical lunch for her:

a half sandwich (usally roast beef or turkey with mustard and some veggies on it)--but she wouldn't eat the crusts

a small baggie with some kind of chip in it--sometimes it was potato chips, sometimes Fritos, Doritos, or stove popped popcorn

some type of fresh veggie--sometimes she had cucumbers, sometimes snap peas

If she didn't have fresh veggies at home that she could bring with her, she would go through the line in the cafe (we worked at a college) and get either a small salad or some asparagus or whatever kind of cooked veggie they had.

then she'd have a cookie of some sort

She would eat just a bit of everything. She would save the other half of her sandwich for later in the afternoon. She would also bring two cookies for the day--Oreos or Vienna Fingers-she would eat one at lunch and save the other one and eat it when she ate the rest of her sandwich later in the day.

I also ate lots of meals with her out in restaurants. Sometimes she would eat too much at lunch because we were out at some special restaurant--but then the next day she'd tell me how she didn't get hungry until later the night before and ended up just having a bowl of cereal or a piece of fruit or something small.

When I think of what kind of eater I want to be--I think of Maureen and I have a good idea of what an intuitive eater looks like.

I've been wracking my brain, trying to think of any IEs I know, and I can't think of anyone! My family is almost all overweight, my friend that's around is always "restricting" food for fear of gaining weight, and the other one that *might* be more of a natural eater lives 4 hrs away. And, I really don't have any other close friends with whom I could spend time and watch. :-?

It's a great idea, though! :o)

Same here Jenn. My dh is the closest thing to an IE that I know which is good because he lives with me. ; ) The thing I notice about him is that he can eat the same exact thing every single day and not care. Oh, he might decide he wants something particular once in a great while, but for the most part, he's very easy to please. Food to refuel, nothing fancy, just food to refuel. He enjoys and appreciates really good food, but he doesn't make a big deal of any food. It's just food to refuel. In fact, he told me one time that if he could get away with it, he just wouldn't eat. It's like it's something he does only because he has to, haha! He also gets low blood sugar quickly, so he knows the downside of not eating. Interesting.

My friend that I spend the most time with is more like me when I wasn't non-dieting. Constantly talking about needing to lose the weight and what kind of diet she's doing now, but not ever really getting anywhere with it. I'm so glad to be free of that. She's the one that I mentioned either on here or on the TW list, who thinks she can't do non-dieting because she feels like she has to eat breakfast every day to lose weight. sigh. Still hoping that in time she'll be able to see the weight loss on me and realize it can be done.
