I know some say it is a different kind of yeast but others say we can react to all. What do you guys think? ****************************************************************** , I have this same question. The Beta Glucan from Natrol, $17.95 at Savon Drugs, says this on the label: " processed from yeast cell walls, which share the same structureal and chemical network that make up our bodies' celluar matrix. " Help here, anyone? Dory

There is one company which sells aloe vera and claims that it contains beta glucan but not give the source of the substance. They claim that their product contains aloe vera betamman plus beta- glucans but do not say where the betaglucans come from. They previously claimed that, their product contained more beta glucans than betamannan so would assume that it is from another source. ******************************************************************** Ora, thanks for the info. I'm sitting here with a jar of beta glucans that are made from the yeast cell walls and wondering what to do? When I bought it, I thought well surely the yeast can't reconstruct itself inside my body after undergoing whatever it is that makes it into beta glucan capsules. Actually, this whole dilemma cracks me up --the extremes I will go to looking for a way out of this vv is ridiculous :):) Maybe you can give me the name of that company and I'll see what I can find out? Feel free to email me. Healing thoughts and some laughter at myself too--Dory

But their product contains Vitamin E to which I am allergic so I cannot use it. But Dee really swears by it. I tried to find out more information from them but they are very cagey and do not answer questions in a straightforward manner.I am sure that it would not be cost effective to make the product from anything besides yeast. Also I feel confident that it will not lead to any yeast infections. (The yeast, by the way is Baker's yeast which is what bread is made from.) I am going to go to Rite-Aid and get a bottle of beta-glucan tomorrow and mix it with some Aquaphone cream and see how it works. Perhaps it will heal me up although I have been pretty pain free lately. Ora
Guest guest
Be very careful what else is in it Ora. Does Rite Aid carry it? It is quite a specialty item.
