Thanks, brenn -- I too have been wondering how to use canned salmon. I know this sounds dumb, but, tell me, do you rinse off that jelly-like stuff that's around the salmon flesh? Really wondering...

RE: what to do with canned salmon.....I sometimes add an egg to it, and some seasoning, form it into a patty, and fry it in a bit of olive oil, top with a bit of melted low fat cheese, and a slice of tomato, and call my spouse for lunch. Or just use it as you would canned tuna....great in salads, etc.

This was yummy! I had this for lunch...thank you! I *do* have one question....do you use the entire can? It made a really big patty.

I have another question for all of you regarding black beans...they are listed in the book as allowable for phase 1, yet I noticed they seem to have alot of carbs....19g per 1/2 cup. Does this sound right to you all? I checked the label and all that is in them is salt, garlic powder, olive oil, and then the beans.....that's it. I don't know what number of carbs is considered low and what is considered high. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much and have a great day!

Take a look at the reminder at the bottom of each email. SBD is not supposed to

be low-carb. It’s about the right carbs. Eat plenty of carbs but

make them the approved, healthy ones, such as those beans.

I make about 4-5 patties per can. I scrape off the skin stuff and put it with my dog's food! The bones too, although I read that eating them helps with calcium.

Beans have lots of fiber so the carbs don't add up so fast. I know

that when I was following WW it was amazing how few points an entire

can of beans had.
