Hi Beth, Sounds like a third metroplasty is something to consider, if , as you say, the circumstances don't work in your favour for a pregnancy before that. (But I sure hope they do!) Playing the waiting game isn't fun. Having a MA and going through all of the diagnosing and surgery and waiting to TTC has given me a BIG lesson in patience - I've never been a very patient person _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
Guest guest
Beth, What are the measurements of your residual septum? I have about 1/2 cm of residual septum at the top of my uterus and it should probably considered negligible. The endometrium should have developed over the residual septum and a fetus would probably be able to survive if it gets implanted on that area since it would have some blood supply. I wouldn't go for a third surgery as I believe that any baby can survive in my uterus cavity. I think my MA case is similar as yours. Have you had an infertility workup? Have you ever considered IVF? Wish you all the best for 2002 and may it bring a miracle for you! Rita

Hi Rita, I have about 1 cm. left on top, and a good decidual response on the cut septum area during pregnancy (that is, the cut area is now covered with good endometrium). The problem is that either the very tip of my septum is still there, or an adhesion is formed--by the cervix. I still have two inner cervical openings. I have asked and asked about this and all the doctors say is that they do not know how this will affect a pregnancy and the development of the lower segment of the uterus in later pregnancy. It could cause fetal restriction, a cord accident, or PTL . . . hard to say right now. So if by July I am not on my way to being a mom, I will consider this surgery again. Already having one baby die rather late, I don't want to go through it again. But the 1 cm. at the fundus is really no problem. :-) If that was all I had, I wouldn't worry about it, either. >Have you had an > infertility workup? Oh yes . . . all the hormone tests, ultrasounds and so forth. My septum was just the latest discovery . . . my infertility plate is heaping full, LOL. >Have you ever considered IVF? Not for very long. It's so expensive, plus I seem able to conceive okay with just donor IUI. > Wish you all the best for 2002 and may it bring a miracle for you! And likewise for you! :-) Beth
