Guest guest
I also wonder if those people are eating properly, taking their vitamins and such? Lyssa
Guest guest
, That is one of the things you surgeon should talk to you about. As you lose weight your skin will most likely stay stretched. Now some of it make shrink back but don't count on it. That's were plastic surgery comes in. Now that may be tougher to get your insurance to pay for than the WLS. www.homestead.com\skinny_soon 4/29/99 421 --- 4/11/00 308 A. Shikora M.D. New England Medical Center NoRm! Guest guest
Hey What d' ya know...I finally am able to post....i weeded through 200 pcs. of mail last night (almost midnight!) YIKES. Anyhoo..I have an opinion on this " aging " thing. Dawn you will probobly agree here..but lets see. EVERYTHING WE DO TO OUR BODIES...afects our hair, skin and nails. If we eat bad....do drugs....whatever...it affects our skin and hair. So you must help your skin and hair out.....You must use a good moisturising lotion on your face to deminish any fine wrinkling....(even if you smear it on 5 times a day)....and we all know that when you loose a lot of weight...you skin is left wrinkling, not to mention dry as a cracker!....I have been the palest person since last June....but I didnt get a chance to get out in the sun last year at all....(complications etc.)......so now that spring is here...I am out as much as possible...soaking in a few rays...and I actually think I have some color! the wrinkles on my face arent as bad as they use to be...so the lotions have helped. Also another thing I find important....(Diane and I were just discussing this).....I dont wear makeup unless I am going to work...or to a function....I let my face breathe on my days off....if I am running to the store...i slap on some eyeliner...maybe some colorstay lipstick...but that is it. Sorry its so long...just my two cents worth! Carla =0)

Guest guest
Carla, I do agree and yes we did discuss this. I work M-F and I don't wear makeup on the weekends unless I'm going out. I have been going to the tanning salon and now when I do wear makeup, it's only on my eyes and lips. I don't like clogging the pores more than needed. So, if anyone ever sees me on the weekends, don't think I didn't get all gussied up for you, I'm just letting my face breathe. Guest guest
Carla, You're absolutely right. I learned all the pro's and con's of dieting while in school, flipping through my Anatomy books, and YES..EVERYTHING we put in our mouths has some sort of an effect on the body, whether hair, skin, nails etc. I learned a great deal today about things like this, and will post a LONG note to the board shortly. I don't have time now, but will be letting you all know some very interesting factors related to weight loss and the effects on the body. Dawn Re: Maybe a stupid question, but....
