<<Hi! My name is and I am 25 weeks pregnant with

my first baby - a GIRL! I found out I have a

bi-cornate uterus at my first U/S (@ 6 weeks

pregnant). My bi-cornate has the middle part coming

all the way down to just before the cervix (I have 1

cervix) with my baby completely in the left side of my

uterus. I have my cervix measured every other week

through transvaginal U/Ss and so far so good but I am

still very nervous and praying daily. Im glad I found

this group! >>

Congratulations, ! I am also glad you found us. Your cervix sounds

good, and anyhow, at 25 weeks the danger has pretty much passed for an

incident of incompetent cervix. May you keep on doing so well. :-)

Hi, . Congratulations on your pregnancy! I had my first baby, a little

girl on 9/5/01 and I have a bicornuate uterus (diagnosed at 8 weeks pregnancy).

My daughter was full term and is wonderfully healthy. I carried her in my right

side of my uterus but she used a little " leg room " (literally) on the left side

too.

Best wishes to you - glad you found us! There are many success stories here.

Hi Sara! Welcome. I'm SO sorry about your loss. As I've learned, but

still have fully believed yet - pregnancy outcomes with a BU are

pretty good. But, you are smart to follow up and find out more. Be

careful with the HSG. It's a great initial test, but you may need to

follow up with an MRI to get more information. I was initially

misdiagnosed with a unicornuate uterus via the HSG. Only the MRI

detected my BU.

Patience is part of this and has been a very hard thing for me to

learn. I don't think I'm there yet :)

You sound very well educated so far - much more so than when I

started!

Best wishes and let us know how things go.

Hi Sara,

Welcome to the group, and sorry to hear of your recent loss. This group is

a great support and great source of info too.

I have also had 2 miscarriages (at 12 and 8 weeks) this past year. I have a

septate uterus, 2 cervices, vaginal septum. I am having surgery to remove my

uterine septum on Thursday.

You seem to be taking charge by having the questions you want answered at

your Dr. appointment. That's great! As you mentioned, it is important to

distinguish between BU and SU, and I'm glad you will be talking to your Dr.

about this. Let us know what happens at your appointment.

Again, I'm sorry about your loss. Miscarrying is a very difficult

experience. A big hug to you.

Take care,

Hello Sara and welcome. I am sorry about your loss. You found a great place for

support and information. It sounds like you have already been doing some of

your own research and that is great. I am still going through tests to find out

what type of uterus I have. I lost a baby at 13 weeks and I have had an hsg and

2 MRI's and I am still waiting for the results. The RE suspects a t-shape, bu

or su, but who knows since he won't return my call. Good luck with your

testing.

New here!

Hi, I'm Sara Gibbs. I'm new to the group. I'm 33 years old and I miscarried

my first in early December 2001 at 12 weeks. My m/c was a blighted ovum,

which they said was not related to my uterus. However, at the same time that

I was told I was miscarrying, my OB also told me that I had heart shaped

uterus, but didn't make a fuss over it. I found this group shortly after and

have been trying to research as much as possible. I don't know much about my

condition because I was dealing with the m/c at the time, but her nurse told

me that the OB wrote in my chart that she suspected BU. I have an appt. this

Thurs with the same OB as follow-up. She mentioned before that she wanted to

do an x-ray (I'm assuming she means HSG). Hopefully I will get that scheduled

in January.

I've been trying to be patient for this next appointment as I have millions of

questions. Like many of you, I have been very scared at all of the articles I

read. But I also have found that you all give me lots of hope and it is a

great comfort to read your experiences. I'm anxious to get an accurate

diagnosis.

I want to review my ultrasound results with the OB at this next appt. I'm

wondering why she thinks I'm BU - did she see the fundus that well on the US

to know that I'm not SU? Is that possible or reliable? I know that lap/hys

is the gold-standard, so I will discuss that at the next appt. I'm open to

any advice on getting an accurate diagnosis.

I'm so glad that I found this group. I was a mess after miscarrying and then

finding out I have an MA. You ladies have helped me from freaking out before

I have a chance to meet with the dr. You have all been in my prayers since I

found you. Thank you Beth for bringing us together.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I'm glad I have somewhere to come to

talk with people that understand.

, what kind of testing did you have to determine that you were su and

not bu? Was your septum complete?

Hello! I am new to IE. I am a recovering dieter (lost 40 lbs, 148),

recovering emotional binger (then gained 30, 178), discovered mindful

eating (lost 10, 168), but recently I've begun dieting again (lost 5

lbs), and currently find myself binging again! I want to nip this in

the bud! :)

I stopped binging the first time after reading Overcoming Overeating,

I lost about ten pounds. I then got sucked into the dieting habit.. I

moved and was lonely and thought losing some weight (I don't really

*need* to lose any, I'm pretty and strong (not to mention married) at

5'8 and 163 lbs) might make it easier for me to make friends. WOP! I

started binging again! Foo. I need to learn my lesson. :) That's why I

am hoping this book will help me. Luckily I caught it right away!

I also really want to " get into " yoga, and start to focus on

mindfulness in all aspects of my life. I feel like over eating to the

point of super-fullness is greedy and wrong.

I'm tired of wasting food and money through binging. It's STUPID! When

part of me tries to taste the food I'm binging on, I'm usually

disgusted. Peanut butter filled pretzels from the drug store taste

stale and fake. Eating 900 calories (like I did today) of them is

unnecessary and ridiculous!

I think I have an excellent metabolism, I am young (23) and quite

active. I doubt I will gain weight on this program. I might though...

just because I'll have to make peace with peanut butter and sugar, but

I've done it in the past and can do it again. I just have to buy the

two gallons of all-natural, deliciously rich peanut butter and say:

" LISTEN. I'm not throwing you away. You're sitting right here and I

can eat as much as I want of you, but only when I'm hungry for you,

and only enough to satisfy myself. "

LOL I've thrown away so many jars of peanut butter over the past few

months my husband gets nervous when he sees it in the pantry. I always

say " I HAVE TO CONQUER THIS DEMON! " and he says " Just be careful not

to binge on it... " I think his warnings make me more likely to binge!

OK, too much. :) I have to go finish reading the book now. I will

probably use it in collaboration with Overcoming Overeating.

Hi Ruthie,

I'm glad you found this site, and I hope it can help you find peace

with food. Binging is straight up not fun regardless of whether

your are a healthy weight or not.

About PB, this was my number one binge food...that I hardly eat much

anymore. I think when you eat tons of PB, it is a very good sign

that you are underfed...eating too little. PB is very nutrient

dense, and I think our bodies know that very well. So, when we eat

too little (because of diet restricting), our bodies go for the

thing that will make up the difference the quickest. Now that I eat

more nutrients through out the day and satisfy my physical hunger,

PB is just another food...Wow, I can't believe I just said

that...oh, how far I have come!
