Guest guest
My sister, after hearing me carry on about mercury and amalgams, brought the subject up with her dentist. (By the way, I am supposed to collect convincing info for her supposedly-open-minded dentist.) Her dentist said that composites have fluoride in them. Perhaps this is what some people are concerned about? I know that fluoride is controversial, with some insisting it is great and some saying it is a poison. Personally, I had the last of my amalgams removed 1 1/2 years ago and replaced with composite. My other composite fillings are 7 years old. The only problems I have had, are the annoying adjustments that need to be made (free of charge, but trooping back in to the dentist a few times is annoying) and the fact that one space between my teeth is still large enough to catch meat anytime I eat it. Overall, I wish everyone in my family had composite fillings. Better yet, I wish they existed thirty years ago... Lorilyn
