excretion pattern in older kids during chelation?

What metals excretion patterns are you all seeing for older kids who are being

chelated? We are awaiting results on Doctor's Data hair and stool heavy metals

tests, the first in a year. I had been told (Dr. Holmes to our doc, a year ago)

that it would take 2-3 years to chelate metals out of a kid as old (12)and big

(now 165 lbs. and 5' 8 " ) as Elliot. Recently, however, another mom I know was

told that her son would be " chelated only for 6 months per the DAN! protocol. "

Since Amy said that nickel is the last to come out before mercury, and since we

have done little testing and saw little mercury when we did (but lots of arsenic

and aluminum), I would love to see any patterns-with-timeframes that others have

observed. If nothing shows on this test, I won't know whether we are done

already, or not reaching mercury yet.

I am also interested in patterns for younger, smaller, less affected kids. My

NT-on-diet second grader has been chelated for about a year with no baseline

tests, and we are also running a stool test on him. I may be able to go on

behavior alone for him, though.

Both my boys had gluten and/or casein recently, and both had reactions, but far

milder than they used to have. My younger son was testing the diet himself

(eating something from a friend at school, to prove that he didn't need the diet

anymore) and told his dad but not me. I commented that he was " off " lately,

more volatile, crankier, and then my husband told me what was going on. I think

most parents would have thought his behavior was just typical of his age. It was

nothing like the clear meltdown he had last summer when we tried ghee from a

middle eastern market.

Happy New Year to one and all.
