Guest guest
Faye, Thanks so much. I think her calories are lower because they are figuring her weight percentile compared to her height.... not for where it should be for her age. She is has always been on the short side. So, figuring it that way, according to our dietician, she was around 50th and she likes to see the kids down around the 25th for better control. Could be that she kept them low based on Katera having a pretty low activity level, too. When we started the diet, she was only getting 850 a day.... just made the increase when she started taking some steps two months ago. She has never lost any weight..... was 33 pounds when we started and still there. She was waking up super early in the morning so the dietician felt we needed a bit more calories but wants to increase slowly. I have a call in to her and should hear from her on Monday so I will bring all of this up. Thanks again..... I am going to push for more protein for sure. May just increase it on my own..... to at least 1.2.... and see how she does. patti Re: protein Hi Patti Looking at the numbers you posted- I would check into a couple oF things. First is calories- 880 seems a bit low to me. I think Katera's ideal wt/age ( at age five) is about 18 kilos at the 50%ile. 15 kilos would put her just at the 10 th percentile. So if you figure at the 50 th and age age 5 years calories should be around 1170 -1225 range. Even if you use actual weight of 15 kilo- the calorie range should be 975-1020. 880 seems quite low unless there is some other reason to keep it low. Katera seems about avg size for age so not sure why calories are so low. Faye
Guest guest
DId the extra calories do anything w/ the super early wake up? She was waking up super early in the morning so the dietician felt we needed a bit more calories but wants to increase slowly.
