Hello, I am interested in the South Beach diet but know very little

about it. How does it compare with Atkins if at all. I am headed to

the bookstore tomorrow to get the South Beach diet book tomorrow but

could use all the help I can get.

Hi --I have not been on Atkins, but I work with some women

who are. From what I have seen and read, the first phase of SOuth

Beach is similar to Atkins, but then it is different in that on the

Beach you can eat healthy carbs like whole grains and fruits, and

fats are healthier. I watch a friend eat lunch--Ranglers with cheese-

-and I wonder how that can be good for her. Bacon? Anyway, the book

explains it pretty well. I think overall, it is a healthy life style

choice. Deb

A good way to start is by going back and reading the earlier posts,

that really helped me. Will give you some great recipe ideas and

get you psyched as people share their success.

I want to learn more about how you increased your protein/decreased your carbs. You have me very interested.

What is a sample menu for one day like for you?

but is doing well on South Beach. It was what his doctor recommended. I don't follow South Beach compleatly. I increased my protein and decreased my carbs. I substituted the good fats for the bad fats and the weight is coming right off. It's working for me. My husband follows South Beach very strictly and it's working for him.
