Guest guest
I haven't started South Beach yet, just got the book. But I lost about 15 on Atikins and I had weakness and lightheadedness the first 3 weeks, even though the book says it lasts only a few days. It helps a lot to take potassium and magnesium supplements. Once I started taking those, I felt better within a couple of days. Your body does adjust after a while. Hope you start to feel better. I have a question for the group. I can't find in the book where it says how much you can eat during phase one. Like the cheesecake recipe is for phase one, but can you have a couple of pieces or only one a day.
Guest guest
You should have sensible portions. I'd say one a day is sensible. Having dessert after every meal is a bit much, isn't it? Even though I love chocolate. It says " normal " portions, so I take that to mean 1 piece of cake. > I haven't started South Beach yet, just got the book. Guest guest
The morning of day 2 was the worst for me. I almost passed out. I believe it is low blood sugar. My body adjusted to the lower carb diet, and I continued to feel better each day. You can try a small glass of V8 when you awaken. Good luck and hang in there. This happens to many people, and they do feel better after a while. lightheadedness I'm on day 2 of Phase 1. This morning I'm feeling really lightheaded and a little dizzy, even after I've eaten my breakfast. Is this normal in the beginning? Is dizziness a sign of low sugar or high sugar? LizReminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats. Guest guest
I felt like total CRAP for about four days (I think I also had a systemic yeast that was dying off!) starting around day three or four. I was so weak and dizzy I could barely get up off the couch and I had a migraine for those four days also. Now I feel great and total weight loss as of this AM (day 9) is 4.5 pounds. Keep at it,,,,, you will feel better soon! W.
