Hi, Judy :o)

To look this up, I would look under cond... without knowing the word

itself.

Knowing the word (basic form of it anyway), I know it is condyloma

(which is A wartlike excrescence at the anus or vulva, or on the glans

penis). The suffix *oid* means resembling. I cannot document the

word condylomatoid. I would guess, without hearing or seeing the actual

report, that the doctor meant condylomatous (adjective form) maybe?

On the other hand, there is the word condyloid meaning Relating to or

resembling a condyle. Condyle is: A rounded articular surface at

the extremity of a bone.

I hope that I haven't added to the confusion :o)

Dawn :o)

I think perhaps the person dictating is meaning to say " condylomatous, " the

adjective form of the following (from Stedman's Online):

condyloma, pl. condylomata

kon-di-lbcm^, -mahct^

A wartlike excrescence at the anus or vulva, or on the glans penis. Syn: verruca

mollusciformis.

Origin

[G. kondylbma, a knob]

I hope this helps.
