Guest guest
The SBD doesn't recommend ketchup because of the sugars, but mustard, horseradish, sauerkraut is OK. I'm not a gourmet cook, so I make a lot of salads - e.g. arugula or baby spinach greens, diced chicken breast (I buy it roasted from the market) or shrimp (thawed frozen), diced part-skim mozzarella, and a lite dressing. I also make an easy flank steak recipe that my hubby loves: 2 lb. flank steak 1/4 cup lite soy sauce 2 tbsp. olive oil 5 pressed garlic cloves 1 tbsp cracked black pepper Combine all the ingredients except the meat in a bowl and transfer to a ZipLoc bag. Add the steak to the bag and seal. Massage the marinade into the steak and leave the entire bag and its contents in the refrigerator for up to 6 hours. Broil or grill for 7 minutes on each side for medium rare. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. For dessert, I have been eating sugar-free Jello and no-sugar-added Fudgsicles. You can't have berries until Phase 2, unfortunately. You can't have pickles or ketchup or mustard...They all contain sugar! You can have 1/2 of a small onion though. Try spices...

Guest guest
I use French's yellow mustard and it has no sugar in it. Also, the dill pickles I buy have no sugar in them. I use a no sugar added ketchup from the diet food aisle.
