Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I just wrote you a long note on the list. I am so sorry you are feeling scared. If you can, please don't hate yourself. I took chlorella because I had no idea. I took a product w/chlorella in it for MANY MONTHS. I now suspect (but will never know) that it may have been a factor in the really icky " new " level of cognitive problems I developed at that time. I know you are doing everything you know how to do, and then trying to learn more. I don't know what else to say, just wanted to try to send some encouragement. I'm sorry I can't be more help. Guest guest
I don't know if it is any comfort to you, but we have used Primal Defense despite the chlorella in it, and like the product. It even seemed that Elliot's periods of remission were when we were NOT using Primal Defense. I ran out about a week ago, and planned on buying more soon. What dose are you using? I never did follow the suggestions on the bottle (for increasing the dose); he got one or two a day, only. We did see regression before we gave the Primal Defense. In fact, we gave PD in large part to prevent further regression. If you are chelating, you may have just hit the point where the nasty metals are finally coming out. Or the " bad bugs " may have taken up residence. Good luck. Lorilyn
Guest guest
Hi Debbie, First, let me tell you that you didn't do anything else other that love your son. The fact that some doctors (lots of them) are... the way they are, the fact that we (not me, but most of the people) trust them, these things are not reasons for you to hate yourself but only to (maybe) hate the doctors, not trust them anymore. I had some really bad experiences with some of them too, and I have to say that some of them are... incredible (I don't want to use some other word). Anyway, I think the best thing for us (all of us here) is the fact that we have this list. I really believe that this list simply changed my life and of course my son's life in better. I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't this list, the people here, Andy, Moria, all you parents, that give a lot from the little time you have to contribute, to try to help the others with advises, experiences (good or bad). This is SO MUCH MORE that I could have gotten from doctors! I am sorry Debbie I got carried away, but once again I feel like saying " Thank you " to these wonderful people here. I am sure you will soon manage to figure out what's the best way to make your son feel better. If anybody is able to do that, you are that one! Because you care for your son! So really, you have no reason to hate yourself only because you tried to help him. We can try to help you too the best we can, but only you can actually " fix " the damage. You can, believe me! I keep hearing lately how much worse people that took Primal Defense feel. I am sorry you had to see that right on your son. Maybe it's time now to start to chelate him. I understand cysteine can be a problem, but I think it's the only way. Start with a really low dose and see what's happening and increase the dose slowly. I am sure his body will become comfortable with the chelator in a very short time. You know, it's amazing how our bodies adapt to whatever new things we try... I've seen that on myself. When I started to chelate, I am sure I had a problems too with the cysteine, but in a very short time this changed. I can say that I feel now better than in any other moment in my life! My son... he feels great too. We had some problems too but as I said, the body takes care of them... it adjusts slowly. Especially when the body is so young. > So HELP!!!! What can I do to reverse this problem? chelate him (my opinion) I don't know what would be better for him, ALA or DMSA, but I'm sure you have to try them. Maybe you should start with DMSA. I know I've read some time ago that DMSA uses cysteine to pull out the metals. I have no idea if it's true, maybe somebody else here can tell you more.. But I'm sure what you can do is to keep your son away from " sulfury foods " for a while, just to see what's happening, especially if you think these are making him feel bad. Also, give him lots of baths with Epsom salt (I am thinking that maybe his body cannot transform the cysteine into sulfate, maybe this is why it's high). > (he became hyperactive on transdermal glutathione, I guess in your son's case the glutathion acted the same way as clorella. Debbie, I am really sorry I cannot be of more help. I really hope you will do the right thing for your son. Believe me, only you can do this! I hope the new year will bring you lots of great moments Please let us know what's happening. Guest guest
I'm not an expert but the pupil dialation sounds more like an allergy reaction than the possibility of him becoming mercury toxic from chlorella. Sometimes really strong allergy reactions can last for weeks even so you may see a gradual return as he's off the product. As to what to do now, if you haven't started to chelate, I'd see a good doctor and begin. The metals you listed that showed high could be causing quite a bit a trouble. You may also find that once he begins releasing the other metals, mercury will come out as well. If it were me, I would not start with ALA. Ideally, with the arsenic, DMPS would probably be best but DMSA would work as well. See an experienced chelation doc who can develop an individualized program for your child and then research what the doc recommends so you're comfortable. Guest guest
Yes, do not blame yourself, Keep in mind that we all are unique, no two are a like. What has worked for one may not work for the other. You must find the combination that works for each child. Do not forget that the practice of medicine is just that, practice...try if it doesn't work try again. Fortunately with your children you do have some time to try again. My wife and Lost a child to cancer. we didn't have the luxury of time, but we kept trying till we found what would help in her case. And it did, but she was so weak when we finally found it she succumbed to invasive strep A pneumonia. But we would not have found it if we stopped to blame our selves! The cancer is a genetic trait cancer called Ewings' Sarcoma. We have three other children and four grand children that have the same potential. If they develop Ewings' we are ready to beat it up front this time. It wasn't chemo or radiation, but that is not what this board is about. However what this board is about is getting kids healthy so their immune system will not let them get cancer etc. LIFE IS ABOUT EXPERIMENTS AND EXPERIENCE and what you do with each and how well you take care of each will be the mark you make in this life. Just do the best you can with the information you have, that is all the best doctors can do! C. W. D. C. [ ] HELP, SCARED, CHLORELLA I don't have technical advise on this issue. However, I can relate well to your feeling of self-blame. My Advise, let it go. In helping our toxic children, we are being stretched far beyond the limits of typical parenting. We can not possibly know all there is to know about everything and every angle to every supplement. So we, understandibly, put a tiny bit of trust in doctors. Perhaps that is a mistake, but we are only human. We can only be responsible for what we do know, not what we don't know. And, bear in mind, some people have reported GREAT results with Primal Defense (we never tried it). So maybe it would have helped your kid. (I hate this analogy as, like you, I'm not crazy about vaccines but: many kids appear to do just fine with all the thousands of vaccinations on the schedule. Why, at that time, should you have thought that your kid would fare any differently?). Anyway, go easy on yourself (I've had to repeat this to myself many times.) And, before long, your child will recover from this. Marisol
