Guest guest
My uncle had Alzheimer's and his memory loss meant that he did not remember his wife of almost 70 years, lost all memory of his 3 children, his grand children, and his great-grand children. Lost all memory of his voyage to America as a teen, becoming an American citizen. Lost his memory of who he was. He would look into a mirror and not know who he was seeing. Couldn't decide what he wanted for dinner because he lost all memory of what foods he liked and didn't like Symptoms of Alzheimer's are nothing remotely like smoking pot a .......... in MichiganI used to have super powers but my therapist took them away i'm sorry sharon...but i am having a lovely time laughing my butt of right now!!!!! when i got to this part: Those afflicted with Alzheimer's suffer from memory loss, > impaired decision-making, and diminished language and movement > skills. well...i was about to pee in my pants when i read that! because==aren't all those symptoms sound just like what it is, and feels like to be smoking pot?????????? so, like--what's the diff??? sorry..i'll try to be serious!!! hugs, kate .. Guest guest
I know! It struck me at funny at first, too. A sense of humor can help us get through some of the worst things in life, can't it Kate? My paternal grandmother had Alzheimer's and I know I would be glad for something to have helped her. The vision of my strict Pennsylvania Dutch grandma smoking pot gave me a good chuckle. Maybe she wouldn't have been quite so strict? LOL And maybe Alzheimer's wouldn't have taken her life away from her....hugs)))Sharon Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.. Guest guest
My paternal grandmother had Alzheimer's. It is devastating to lose someone right before your eyes. I understand. I can assure you no one here on the group is laughing or making light of Alzheimer's. There are several here on the group who have had family members with Alzheimer's. Sharon (group owner) Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time..
