Hi Tara,

when I was pregnant because there was question as to what kind a

uterus I had, I was told vaginal rest the entire pregnancy. Of

course, that is no fun, but whatever it takes to get your earthly

angel, right?

My doctor said it was fine as long as my cervix was fine. I will be 29 weeks

on Wednesday and we are still having sex.

Hi . You are SO right - whatever it takes! We're waiting to talk

to the doctor but we're going to the ob-gyn for the prenatal visit

and I'm scared that he won't be as concerned about the risks. Maybe I

should call the perinatologist and ask her instead. I want to make

sure we do whatever is necessary.

I have a bicornuate uterus, probably should have mentioned that in

the poll question. Oh well.

Thanks . And, happy holidays.

Wow, if you actually feel up to having sex during your first trimester, I am

impressed. :-)

That's probably a question better answered by your OB, but I just had to respond

to that one!

Tara,

I was told it was all right, unless I had a cerclage. Try not to worry!

I have UD and I was told by my OB that it was fine as long as I

didn't have any spotting/bleeding and no cervical changes.

The mental/emotional aspect is another story altogether. In my first

pregnancy especially, I was SOOOO paranoid in my first (and third)

trimester, not to mention feeling like a whale at the end (gained 40+

lbs) that I totally didn't feel like it, even though it was

TECHNICALLY okay. I actually used that as a bit of an excuse, the

whole " risk " scenario, which probably wasn't entirely fair of me, but

I truly WAS very worried.

Definitely a question for your OB, as the advice seems to vary with

each individual case.

I'm BU and I wasn't restricted in any way and had sex during the first and

second trimesters with no problems.
