Guest guest
Kim I'm jumping up and down for you. Thats great. was it just this past Halloween. It seems longer ago than that. Although that is still to long. The wheels of justice turn slow, but at least this time justice was done. Anita

Guest guest
Congratulations Kim. I don't know what you went to court for ... but, I'm very happy that you won your case! Hugs,Babette Victory belongs to the most persevering. Are you jumping up and down? Well, I am!!! Just got home from Court and finally something went our way! WE WON!!!!! The a** was sentenced to 4.5 years of which he will spend 1 year and 1 month. The judge told him that what he did was irresponsible and sometimes although we do stupid things, we have to pay the consequences. He did let me tell him how I felt and asked if he had anything to say which he didn't, then he imposed his sentence. I couldn't believe that finally we won!!! WE so needed that too. The boys mother kept coming back to where we were sitting to "talk" you us telling us how sorry her son was and that he didn't mean to hurt anyone, that he was just out having fun and blah blah blah, She came back there 4 times. I really feel that she thought he was going to get totally off. Doug and I both feel that if he was truly sorry he could have been man enough to turn around and tell us himself instead of making his mother do it for him. We didn't stick around to hear anything else she had to say afterwards. Although I as a mother feel sorry for her, I didn't feel I owed her anything. Plus I was so thrilled that we actually won that there was no way I could sit there again and be quite. LOL She kept saying that he wrote a 3 page apology letter to us and that they wouldn't give them our address which I know for a fact is on the police report. So they had it. But still I think if he was really sorry for what he did he could have turned around and said it personally you know? Along with the 4.5 years he was sentenced almost $8000 in fines, plus 2.5 years of probation to be served after the jail time. Now, it's over with we can put this part of our life behind us and move on. One last thing I want to say a huge thank you to everyone here for there thoughts and prayers. They meant a lot to us while we were going through all of this frustration. Big hugs,Kim
Guest guest
Kim, I'm really glad to hear there is some victory here. It's still sad that it could happen to begin with, but I'm glad at least he will serve some time to pay for his actions. Guest guest
Thank you so much everyone. You have no idea how good it felt to finally have someone higher up tell this jerk that it was NOT okay what he did! And that sometimes we do stupid things and we still have to pay for them. Thanks again, Kim
