Guest guest
My son's doctor said to me that he talked to the Great Smokies' people. Based on his knowledge and experience in allergies, his conclusion is that the Great Smokies' IgG part of the comprehensive antibody assessment is not reliable. Any comment on that is appreciated? Guest guest
I cannot comment on Great Smokies' comprehensive antibody test. I can, however, comment on their other testing practices. My husband has a PhD in Biology and has done extensive work in measuring metal and chemical contamination of ground water based on analysis of tree rings. When we decided to have a hair analysis done on our children, he felt confident that he would know whether the lab was doing it correctly or not. We felt this particularly important given the controversy regarding hair analysis. After speaking with Great Smokies Lab, he told me their analysis techniques and equipment are of the upmost sophistication. I would have to assume they use equally reliable and sophisticated testing for all of their other tests as well. Great Smokies Lab is considered a " preferred lab " on our BCBS plan. In order to attain this status, I would imagine they have to comply with certain regulations and evaluations. Whether or not the governments requirements are good enough.....well....that is another story altogether, isn't it!
