Guest guest
Speaking of doing things wrong, which I know I do, but when I was first starting out as an MT. My boss who was an MT would type this doctor who always started his notes w/the patient's condition and what was wrong w/them and then he would always say colon. Well, for years she would type colon. When I started doing this doctor, and he never mentioned anything about the colon, I questioned it and she realized he was saying : as in the 2 dots....lol...just wanted to share. The doctor or the clinic never said a word to her about it for all those years. val
Guest guest
Jan, Just make sure you make that macro for when it has to do with ascites. Acetic acid (vinegar) is used for several things, including I believe to help identify genital warts. Then of course there is ascetic, the way I made the mistake of typing it, which we would probably not come across in medical reports, which has to do with self-denial, austere, a person who leads a life of strict self-denial, especially for religious reasons. Don't you just love all these words that sound alike but mean totally different things. This reminds me of the time that I put a note out to the people I worked with asking if anyone knew if Betsy Hospital had changed its name to Betsy Medical Center. One woman wrote back that she had called the hospital and they have never used the name Betsy in their name and it was still ston Memorial Hospital. These are two different hospitals, in counties very close to each other. She has lived here all her life but had always typed just the one and didn't even know that they were different. Oh the fun times we can have with words. Guest guest
Jan, A friend's daughter was once told that she was a perfectionist at work and anal retentive. She got so upset that it just ruined her whole day and she was hard to get along with for awhile. My friend told her daughter that, " Margaret would take that as a compliment, she's so perfectionistic and anal retentive at work it isn't funny. " She then told me all about it, including what she had said to the daughter, and I agreed and laughed about it. I just can't seem to get away from trying to make it all perfect, wish I could sometimes so I would quit driving myself nuts. Guest guest
Val, That one had me laughing so hard I started choking. Can't remember when I laughed that hard. Reminds me of the type my supervisor had put out a question for all of us to guess on for transcription week. At the end of the week, she put up a note that said, " __________' guest was correct, she wins. " I didn't come in until 3:30, so that had been posted all day. Of course, I had to go ask her who this person's guest was that had won. She got so disgusted when she realized that she had put guest instead of guess. Sometimes us peons just have to tell our bosses when they are wrong.
