Guest guest
Maggie, it is good to have you join with us. I am Vicki ,44, and I have lost an enormous amount of weight through dieting and exercising, but in my quest for eating right I switched to Intuitive Eating 10 months ago. I am still losing slowly, and yes I gain some too. But I dieted over two years and in that I sometimes gained. Put the scales away for a while or it will bring you down every time you don’t drop a pound. Weigh every month or less. You can’t judge weight from day to day. I E is so great, it just takes a while to get used to ‘having your cake and eating it too’. Blessings, Vicki P. I am SO ready for a change! I'm tired of obsessively counting calories and then beating myself up when I go over my " limit " . (And, like many, once I go even 50 calories over, then I quickly switch to " what the hell " eating.) I'm 31 years old and too OLD for this crap! So for the last 2 days I have tried to listen to my hunger and follow the book. Last night when I went to bed I was pretty full - too full really - and I gained a pound from yesterday, but I'm ok with that. I know this is a process and that I won't just magically become an intuitive eater overnight. But I'm ready to try! :-) Thanks so much for this group, Maggie _,___
Guest guest
Hi, Maggie! Welcome!! I love to hear someone your age decide to dump the yoyo diet pattern. Might you think about lletting go of the scale? It's scary I know but it's freeing as well. I am feeling lighter in mind and loving that feeling! Guest guest
Hello, I heard about Intuitive Eating on a Fitness Forum I belong to. This is definitely me: #2.4 EATING STYLE: Emotional Unconscious Eater TRIGGER: Uncomfortable Emotions CHARACTERISTIC: Stress or uncomfortable feelings trigger eating -- especially when alone. I have 40 pounds to lose. Diets work for me, until I completely sabotage myself. I need to find a healthy, happy way to eat that will allow me to maintain a reasonable weight level. I just ordered two IE books from Amazon, and am looking forward to learning.

Guest guest
Welcome ! Introducing Myself Hello, I am new to the group and wanted to take a moment to introducemyself. I have been a binge eater for about 8 years and in typicalbinge-eater fashion would cycle that with restricting. I became awarethat it was an "issue" that I needed to take care of in June 06 andhave been practicing intuitive eating since September 06. I struggle daily with beind mindful and aware of what I am putting inmy mouth. I hope that this board will provide some support in terms ofknowing that there are people out there who struggle as I do.Thank you!! We won't tell.
