Guest guest
, Years ago I went to a holistic doctor & he had me follow a more restricted way of eating. He said my epstein barr & cytomeglovirus (from having mono in the past) was always going to be present & the yeast was reactivating it. I started taking something to kill the bad bacteria & took good bacteria to restore myself back to normal yeast levels. I was not strict about following the diet, however, I started to feel worse, which is normal when you kill off the candida. When yeast dies off from your body apparently it puts off a byproduct that makes you feel like you have the flu. However, about 3 days later I felt much better & then just got better & better. The best I had ever felt in my life. Unfortunately, over the years I web & flow from this eating change. When I start feeling real crappy again, I get more strict, then thing you know I am eating everything again. I admit I feel best when following it. The best book that I enjoyed was " The Yeast Connection "

Guest guest
Do any of you who follow low carbohydrate diets to restrict yeast growth have high blood pressure? My Doc prescribed a high carb diet for my slight high blood pressure so I feel caught in the middle. Many of you on this board seem to take Diflucan, do you go off carbs when you do that? It is my understanding that Diflucan does not kill the yeast in all parts of the body but some other types of Antifungals do. So if you take Diflucan and you have yeast elsewhere in your body won't your vaginal yeast infection come back? I know this is a lot of questions Sorry. Guest guest
, << Do any of you who follow low carbohydrate diets to restrict yeast growth have high blood pressure? >> My husband had high blood pressure before he started on the yeast diet. That is now normal. The theory on that is Candida produces toxins that will make the blood pressure go up in some people. When you treat the Candida, the toxins are no longer present and the blood pressure returns to normal. I would try the low carb diet first, and make sure that any fats you eat are healthy ones. << Many of you on this board seem to take Diflucan, do you go off carbs when you do that? >> It is important to do this, to avoid developing a resistant strain of yeast. There are some that are resistant to Diflucan already, such as Candida Tropicalis. If you have this, Diflucan will do nothing for you. << It is my understanding that Diflucan does not kill the yeast in all parts of the body but some other types of Antifungals do. So if you take Diflucan and you have yeast elsewhere in your body won't your vaginal yeast infection come back? >> Diflucan will kill susceptible yeast in any part of the body, except maybe the nails. If that is your only yeast infection left, it is unlikely for the vaginal yeast infection to return, unless the immune system is so weak it can't fight it off. Candida is everywhere around us, so it is easy to pick up when the immune system is stressed. If you just treat the vaginal area, and you have yeast in the intestines, it will return, as the intestinal infection will keep the immune system stressed to the point of being unable to fight very many infections. Hope this helps. Anne M., RN ImmuneBalance@... http://www.candidafighter.com
Guest guest
I was prescribed Diflucan which I take once a week. I was also told no sugar, dairy or alcohol but not " low carbs " . He said that I could eat all the pasta I wanted. I am wondering why now. Since he is deceased I will have to check with the new specialist at the end of the month. Very interesting. Guest guest
The body uses and digests grains and other starches like it does sugar. So, to me when somebody says don't eat sugar, that means especially grains (pasta is a really simple sugar) and other starches.
