Hi all

just joined the group, had my 1st attack 4 years ago and just had

another so diagnosis seems confirmed now. Basically, all I want to do

is find someone who's had ms for a few years but still manages to lead

a fairly normal life i.e. working etc. The messages I get from the

medical professsion are all so negative including a ms nurse telling me

4 years ago that I'd probably be too disabled to work in 5 years (I

have RRMS)and the last GP I saw said there was no point in me seeing a

neurologist as there is nothing they can do. I know of 1 woman in my

town who is in her 50's, has ms but seems in good shape and is still

able to work but I haven't tried to speak to her yet. Anyway, thank you

to anyone who takes the time to reply to this.

Hello ,

Welcome to the group. MS affets everyone differently. This group gives great

advice.

When I was first diagnosed, my doctor told me I would be in a wheelchair in

two years and dead within five. That was in 1978. I've outlived him. I still

walk with a walker. I still run a writing workshop. I worked full time up

until three years ago. The only drug I've ever taken is LDN. I take

supplements and watch my diet. As members say, I have MS, it doesn't have me.
