Guest guest
Just to add another snake story since Janet got us started. My husband's pickup had been in the garage for several days and we finally needed to go to town for something. When we pulled up to a light, the woman in the car next to us was waving frantically and pointing at the side of the truck. We didn't think much about it until we got to the store and parked. Again, someone was yelling at us and pointing to the truck. When we got out, there was a snake slithering from under our truck. Evidently, he had climbed into the undercarriage and fell (jumped?) out when we stopped. It was a non-poisonous snake, but I'm like - a good snake is a dead snake. Like Janet, I don't like to run over them unless I can still see the body in the road as I drive ahead. I've also heard they can wrap around the axle and go home with you. Yikes!! Guest guest
YES!!!They most definitely can wrap themselves around anything they can get those nasty slithering bodies around!!! We were coming back home one day and said...."SNAKE...run over it!!!" Which I did try several times to do just that... hitting the darn thing only once and slightly wounding it in the middle. So I tried one time too many and missed again and the truck died...RIGHT OVER THE SNAKE! Quick as I could...I started the truck and pulled forward....NO SNAKE....ANYWHERE!!! So I drove home dreading to get out of the truck...just knowing it was under it!!! said...."NO...NO...It crawled off in the weeds...it's not under the truck!!!" "YEAH RIGHT" I said..."You get out and check it out!" After he checked and verified to me there was none...Then I got out and walked to the front of the truck...there was the snake wrapped around the front license plate!!! Boy did I ever let out a SCREAM!!! This just happened a few months ago...however last year was worse! was bitten by a copperhead right at our front door as he stood in the den and then my dog found a baby rattlesnake in my den a few weeks after that! And no I don't live in a tent! LOL...I have a nice 3 bedroom brick home in the country! It just happens to be in a snakey area!!!LOL I watch under my feet even in the house! Guest guest
YIKES!!!! As if I was already scared enough about snakes, now I've gotta be careful getting in and out of my truck! Hubby already thinks I nuts.... In addition to my routine of checking door locks, etc. every night, I also make sure the dryer door is shut... I'm just sure that one of those buggers could slither into the dryer vent and make its way into the house! Well, thanks Elaine and Deanna, for confirming my fears about the possibility of snakes hitchhiking! (((hugs))) Janet Re: Another snake story YES!!!They most definitely can wrap themselves around anything they can get those nasty slithering bodies around!!!
