I recieved my PET sacn results yesterday, & although I felt the thyca was

back due to the positive tg anti, it still has thrown me through a loop!!

There is a small area in the lower mid neck & a large area in the left

suprclavicular are positive for metastices.

My PCP had ordered the PET himself when my ENT & Thyca Specialist both wanted

to wait. I thank God for my PCP!! He actually sat down & cryed with me when

we went over the results.

I Faxed copies of the results to both specialists. The ENT has ordered a CAT

scan for next Friday @ our local Cancer hospital. The Thyca Specialist

agrees with this & wants me to call him with the results. My thyca has most

likely become resistant to iodine, since it has not shown up on my last three

I131 scans. (The last one 2/01) If the area appears surgical, the they

suggest surgery & a very high dose of I131 treatment to see if it will take.

I just had MRND 11/00, when my ENT searched these areas & found nothing. How

will he find it this time?

I am so tired of this!!!!!!!!!! This will be my 3rd thyc surg & 8th surg in

7 yrs! 4 on my neck!!

It also killing me that I have to tell my parents that it's back!! Both

parents are getting old (79 & 86) & are very sick & fragel themselves. They

don't need this added to their worries!!

Sorry, I just needed to vent to people who understand. Thanks!!!
