Guest guest
Can someone tell me what are the qualifications and expertise of nurse practitioners in the US? Over here in Australia it's rare to be seen for a medical problem by anyone other than a fully qualified medical practitioner. Sure a nurse might do some bandaging or administer a vaccination as an assistant, but they are not the primary treating person. Of course that may be because we have an excess of doctors over here - which we really do (except in country areas).... At any rate, I am seeing a specialist, specialist (yes there were *supposed* to be two of them, that is not a typo) for my vulva problems. That is, someone who *only* sees people who have been referred by a specialist in vulva problems (or perhaps just a gyn? I'm not sure). I find it incredible that some of you are being treated by nurses (excellent though they may be in their field). But perhaps your " nurse practitioners " are more highly trained??? Can someone fill me in on this? Daphne ===== daphne_j_60@... __________________________________________________
