Hi guys,

I always get the sense that Dr. Thayer is in a big hurry. I'm still happy

that he's my surgeon, but sometimes I do feel rushed with him. On the plus

side, I called the office today, expecting him to call me at his convenience,

when he suddenly got on the phone. Here's the conversation:

Thayer: " What's up, kid? "

Alice: " Well, I had my ultrasound today, and they told me I had fatty

deposits in my liver. "

Thayer: " That's because you're fat.

(pause)

Fat people have fatty livers. Don't worry about it. "

I HAD to laugh! It made me feel much better. From now until Tuesday, I'm not

going to worry about anything....

Re: Pam

It was no big deal. I don't see him till my anver. date now. He said

probably what he say's to everyone. Kind of a wasted trip for me. It

takes me an hour and a half to get there for a 5 min appt. Personally I

could of done other things. 3 hours on the road with the kids, (real

fun). Pam

That is the reason NEMC insist that you lose some weight first, the less

fatty deposits the easier it goes for him and you.

I guess what he told me was the fat there goes first during a diet and 10-20

pounds makes a world of difference.

Dr Thayer has such a way with words........lol

Before my surgery, He kept telling me I was healthy as a HORSE...........hmmm

being in his postion of dealing with obese people...you'd think he would

have come up with another analogy.......lol.

Thayer: "What's up, kid?"

Alice: "Well, I had my ultrasound today, and they told me I had

fatty

deposits in my liver."

Thayer: "That's because you're fat.

Pam,

Well fortunately we know him well enough now to know that he has our best

interests at heart and really cares about all of us...I honestly think he is

just a little absent minded .....so he doesnt choose the best words, but We

still love him anyway..........

Some of my cousins work in hospitals...they told me surgeons are a breed of

their own......so we can chaulk it up to that.......
