I am not experienced enough to answer your question, but I am curious enough

to also know about it. Does anyone on this e-mail ring have any answers

about cravings, possible hunger post-op, etc...??

I just discovered this web site. In searching through OSSG sources,

I also discovered a group called OSSG Hungry. I am not a member, but

from the brief description, evidently there is a group of people out

there who suffer from hunger all the time despite their small stomach

size. Cravings I can understand; that is not true hunger. But,

apparently these people feel the surgery has failed them and left

them still unable to conquer hunger and control portions. As I said,

I am not a member, so don't know too many details.

However, that is one of my biggets worries; that this surgery will

fail and, despite the best efforts on my part, I will still be

fighting feelings of hunger post surgery. I did that for so long on

so many low calorie, liquid, etc. diet plans that I don't ever want

to be that way again. I am desparate to be permanently successfuly

this time with my weight loss. But, what's the deal with hunger after

surgery (again, not cravings).

My surgery date is fast approaching and I am nervous enough without

worrying that I will not succeed AGAIN! Any help appreciated.

There were many times I felt hungry and what made it worse I was in the

Hospital and had no way of getting extra meals 3 a day. So I saved fruit, I

ordered Fruit and Graham Crackers with every meal and saved them. At night I

would start an apple and two hours later throw almost half away. Those

snacks help. Don't be afraid of Healthy Snacks.

,

You will still have your hungry times, and cravings once the surgery is

done, however, the amount it takes to suit your needs is barely nothing.

Example was yesterday...I was craving " something " , and could not find " it "

for the life of me. This resulted in grazing a lot, however, my choices

included, pretzels, a lil bit of SF ice cream, and one cookie. This was

throughout the day, and I definitely paid for it this a.m. but feel fine

now. Back before surgery, I would have eaten ALL of the pretzels, chips,

cheese-its, about a pint or so of ice cream, then washed it down with a

Mcs shake. Even though I had a lousy eating day yesterday, it's over,

and I'm going to focus more on my nutritional guidelines today...even though

it's Easter! I will have a scoop of this, a scoop of that, but not

overdoing it, and NO DESSERT!

Good luck!
