80 mg four times a day. So total of 240 mg? Or 4

20mg capsules?

I think I will try a drink and see how it goes. If I

start to feel funny I will not take any more prozac on

the trip. I'll give it a go on Tuesday night.

I went out with Shaun and got myself BUTT DRUNK. I mean, to the point he

carried me into the house LOL.

I got sick, but I did not die.

Well, I don't take prozac, but my experience is just that antidepressants

have an amplifying effect on alcohol. That's what I think the warnings are

about...

The effect Prozac has on alcohol is a mild to moderate one. Like Jacquie is

saying, it tends to get you drunk quicker, and you may feel very buzzy when

you're not quite buzzed, etc.

I was on an antibiotic once that had a severe reaction with alcohol, which I

didn't know before drinking. I drank half a glass of wine, and I thought I

was going to die on the spot. It was not pretty.

So.... I think if you were going to have a reaction to drinking + prozac,

it would show up pretty quickly.

At least all of us there with you will know what to tell the EMT's when they

get there LOL.

It can't hurt.

I made my reservations online through www.citysearch.com and obviously -

something went amuck.

Thankfully, I did call to confirm, so it's all okay now, but for a moment

there, giving birth to a cow was less traumatic.

I drink whilst taking Prozac ;-)

I do not drink alcohol to wash down the Prozac, but I do drink.

However, I have not been able to drink as much since I started taking it,

and even one glass of wine can offer up a really bad morning.

Might be different for you....Just a warning.

Lemme scare you Tamara. When I was on Prozac, my psych had me on 90 mg a day.

And that wasn't TOUCHING it. Next go roud will be Zoloft, and possibly Buspar. I

hate meds.

Tamara, I am like you. I have to have a lot before I get a buzz to. I can

normally put back somewhere between 12-20 beers before I start to get happy. So

I start drinking before I hit the bars to.

Bob and I went out last night. First time out with out the kids. He takes thme

every where. I really have to talk to this guy. Any way. I started drinking

before he came over and he was shocked. There was 6 empty bottles on the counter

before we left.

Oh yes he paid for the sitter to.

Well, in that case, I can be cheap and get a buzz!

Bonus!! I have a really high tolerance usually and

have to do like 4 or 5 shots to get a buzz going. It

gets expensive. So usually if I am planning to drink

I take a few shots before going to the bar or

whatever. I am pretty cheap! LOL! Seriously, I do

not hardly ever drink....like 3 or 4 times a year

maybe. But it takes so much. Everyone else has a

beer and starts to get happy. It is definetely not

fair.

Anyone else on Prozac ever had a problem with mixing

some drinks with it?
