Breakfast?

So I just ate a Luna bar and a half for breakfast (I've been craving them for

some reason)...

I wasn't feeling especially hungry at the time I ate them, but it had been

around 9 and half hours since I

had eaten anything ( I came home from work last night and was ravenous, ate

whatever I wanted until

comfortably full, then went to bed around midnight)...

Anyways, do you reccommend eating in the morning even if you aren't especially

hungry? What about if

you had a very late evening of eating? Any suggestions would be splendid.

I know that it goes against everything that IE says and stands for, byut I feel a little something in the morning to get you going and give you energy whether you are especially hungry or not is good. It is proven that breakfast leads to a balanced day of eating. I completely agree with that because if I, personally, wait and waitall day, then later on I just go crazy. I feel if I start out good, I end good. I ahve been eating those little packs of All Bran snack thingys for breakfast. They are small in calories and are all bran which is a healthy choice. Even fruit or somethingis great too. Just my two sense! I like to have a cup of milk in the morning, no matter what I eat for

breakfast. Luna Bars are pretty good, if you're craving them.

Balance Bars are a bit better because they have more fiber. I

usually have oatmeal or some type of bread (toast, bagel, tortilla)

and an egg.

That wasnt my point. My point was that it says in IE that if you are not hungry in the morning, dont eat. Im saying that is one of the very few things that I disagree with. I feel, that even if you are not all that hungry, to still eat something small to get your body going in the morning. This is one of those things I wonder about as well. What I have

figured out for myself is if I am trying to listen to my body then I

shouldn't eat when I am not hungry in the morning. Instead, I bring

something to work so I can eat between waking and lunch when I do

get hungry. I try not to force myself to eat when I am not hungry,

not because I think it is bad, but because I am trying to listen to

my body and respond to cues of hunger and not habit. I think you

should do what feels right for you right now and pay attention to

how it affects you. If eating breakfast when you are not hungry

works for you from an energy stand point, keep doing it. If not,

don't. Your body knows best. And we are all different.

shouldn't eat when I am not hungry in the morning. Instead, I bring

something to work so I can eat between waking and lunch when I do

not because I think it is bad, but because I am trying to listen to

my body and respond to cues of hunger and not habit. I think you

should do what feels right for you right now and pay attention to

One thing that really fills me up, don't ask me why though...is a slice of ezekiel bread with 1 tbsp peanut butter (or however much you like on it) toasted and then sprinkled with nutritional yeast....weird but carries me through my work outs and all. I also like oatmeal and fiber one or mini shredded wheats.

The toast thing is the thing that really carries me through though, i usually have 4 oz. oj with it too!

I too have wondered about the breakfast thing, and I tend to do what

Punky does--I wait until I'm hungry and then eat. The only time I

may deliberately eat food in the morning when I'm not hungry yet is

when I'm going out for a long bike ride.

My sense of the " don't skip breakfast " advice is that it's based on

an assumption that people skip breakfast even when they are hungry

and try to hold off until lunch. I don't think this advice takes

into consideration people who don't get hungry until later in the

morning. My hunsband, for instance, does not get hungry until 11 AM

or so, and if totally fine energy-wise waiting until then to eat.

In the end, it's all about doing what is right for you. So if

eating a bit in morning before you're hungry gives up some energy,

that's great.

Usually when I eat late in the

evening I am not hungry until late the next morning. It is always best to

wait for the hunger, otherwise you take in more than you need.

If you feel breakfast is important then

you need to eat a little less in the evening so that you will be hungry that

morning.

If you feel breakfast is important then

you need to eat a little less in the evening so that you will be hungry that
