Guest guest
I am having to take an antibiotic, Augmentin, to get rid of a kidney infection and I, of course, am worried about it. If I take the probiotics during the antibiotic treatment, it seems like they would just be destroyed by the antibiotic.........so the question is......should I wait to take the probiotics after I finish the antibiotics or should I take the probiotics with the antibiotics? Another question: Do sulfur drugs like Sulfamethoxazole kill the good bacteria like antibiotics do? I was given that drug the last time I had a kidney infection. Thanks, Pattie in GA

I called culturelle and asked them about their product and they claimed that it would still be effective. I suspect it would make it harder from the probiotics dependeing on the antibiotic used. Guest guest
Hello Patti: I've always been told to take to probiotics during the course or antibiotics and then continue for a few weeks after as well. This is what I've always done but I don't have any back up data to send you to confirm that this is a useful way to do it. Guest guest
maybe it isn't yeast? That's a terrible question, I know, but you're doing all sorts of stuff to prevent yeast. Is your doctor saying it is definitely yeast? Just wondered if you should enlarge the possibilities so as not to miss anything. Guest guest
> Can someone tell me about this: My dd has yeast - very bad, we fight it all the time. She is on Zyme Prime (5 x day), AFP (5 x day)No-Fenol(3 x day). We have Yeast Avenger, Diflucan, that I give everyday. I give a combo of Pro Bio gold and Culturelle (5 x day). How is it we are still YEASTIE!!!!! What am I doing wrong, can anyone give me some hints. I've used GSE and it works, but kills of the good bugs as well. Is this soemthing that I shouldn't worry about the good bugs until all the yeast is taken care of? Am I spinning my wheels? I wonder because we use ALA to chelate and every time it brings back the yeast. AARRRGGGHHH!!!!!! PLEASE GIVE ME A SENSE OF DIRECTION HERE!!!!! If I use Culturelle, aren't I just putting something in her that GSE and OOO will kiss? I don't know about oil of oregano, because I have never used it. But in my experience, GSE kills yeast only, because every time I give GSE for too many days, my kids get bad bacteria overgrowth, the GSE sure does not kill the bad bacteria! And then I stop the GSE and give Culturelle and that fixes the bacteria problem. Dana

I give Culturelle at the same time as enzymes, still works very well for us. Dana
