The only foods that tasted right to me after RAI were very spicy ones.

After several months, my husband got very tired of alternating between

Mexican and Thai restaurants! My taster eventually got back to normal;

I'm sure yours will, too.

Funny thing is, we taste only basic things on our tongues:

sweet, sour, salt, bitter - the rest is smell. Perhaps there

are a couple of things going on, maybe RAI for tongue, and

hypo messing up smell?

I have had it both ways.

The first time I had RAI, I lost my sense of taste completely. All

food had no flavor whatsoever.

The second time I had RAI, I lost some of it, but not totally, can't

really remember exactly how much. Just finished my third RAI, and am

happy to say that I think I just lost about half of it. Can still

taste basic flavors, but it is somewhat diminished, and has a strange

aftertaste. Also, the sides of my tongue seem to have better taste

than the center of my tongue.

Gosh, I thought I was going out of my mind. I had my RAI 3 weeks ago

and the only thing that appeals to me is spicy tuna rolls! The sushi

delivery place loves me!
