Vegetarian LID (was Re: My Surgery Went Great!!!)

I should have written " packaged " . I went through a gigantic health

food store, read through at least a thousand labels (!) (I'm a

stubborn person) without finding a single *health store* product

that I thought was OK. It seems that the manufacturers need to add

soy stuff, sea-salt, seaweed stuff, ingredients in oriental languages,

and other LID contraband. Try it when you have a free evening

sometime - it could become the new mall sport. (Yes, I was hypo

at the time).

What I found in my last hypo, is that as you read packaged foods

labels there is a trend. Cheap bulk products, such as pasta, tend

to have good ingedient lists. Expensive stuff in frilly packages are

sure to fail the ingredient test. You'll probably find nothing in

the gourmet isle, and find heaven in the store brand one.

I used your cookbook (appreciatively!) while LID. The product lists

are great, but a lot of the packaged stuff are so regional/transient.

Most recipes in veggie cookbooks work on LID.

Happy holidays!

Whole Foods to be a great resource of LID items.
