Guest guest
OK. Maybe so, maybe no. As I can't find the original text, let's assume that this is a direct quote from his works. I would as easily submit that it was just an influence on the perp. to times and target selection. In any case, it is my responsibility to assist the public in maintaining a sense of order and security. My job is to assist those in need of emergency care, at the same time hoping and praying that the emergency never arises. Whatever happens, let's all hope for the best and, as we always should, prepare for the worst. Keep in thoughts and prayers our brothers and sisters that have fallen to these cowards. Let us remain a symbol of security to those we serve. God Bless Texas. God Bless America. God Bless us all. Joe T. Kiff, EMT-I " In the year of the new century and nine months, From the sky will come a great King of Terror... The sky will burn at forty-five degrees. Fire approaches the great new city... Guest guest
Ain't it just amazing what gets posted on the Internet? Sorry nutz4fp@... ( I didn't catch your name), but saying that Nostradamus was able to predict the future is a bit of a stretch. Nostradamus made hundreds of loosely worded predictions, written in archaic French, which " scholars " have translated and interpreted, bent and twisted ad nauseum for centuries. In my humble opinion the only prediction he ever made that undeniably came to pass was when he predicted his own death. Everything else is just more fodder for the conspiracy theorists. The particular prediction you have referenced was a cold war favorite of the doomsayers. Too bad it had to be reinterpreted (reinvented?) after the fall of the Soviet Union. Up until that time the aforementioned scholars were convinced the fire from the sky would be an ICBM launched by the USSR. These same learned folk used Biblical reference (Revelation 17:16 -18:4) as further " proof " of their argument. I'm sure they were greatly disappointed when the Berlin wall came tumbling down. If you want to read more of this kind of silly stuff, some years back a fellow by the name of L.C. published an essay titled " America be Warned " in which he spouted great gobs of this kind of nonsense. I'm sure it is posted on the web somewhere. It is a perfect example of what a man can do when he has too much time on his hands. A Google search ought to turn it up, and probably a whole lot more. All of this is just more proof of human gullibility. Consider something. If the events in New York City and Washington D.C. are fulfillment of prophecy there remains a small problem. According to Nostradamus (or at least to the translations and interpretations) there should have been several preceding events. Nuculear war was supposed to be raging in Europe with previously unheard of weapons being used, The new weapons are so violent as to cause rivers to leave their paths and set the Mediterranean boiling, and China is supposed to have allied with the Arabs in a war with Israel. The events in New York and D.C. are tragic examples of man's inhumanity. The terrorist attack is an example of criminal cruelty, fanaticism, perhaps even insanity, but prophecy fulfilled I don't think so. I will make a prediction of my own. I predict that some person or group of persons is going to be very sorry they ever thought about pulling this kind of cowardly attack on the United States of America. Just my humble opinion. Guest guest
Some people never learn from HISTORY. Japan hit pearl and We as a nation pulled together and kicked them all the way back to their homeland. Now this has happened. I think it is going to happen again. But I hope and pray that when the smoke clears that they drag the leader of it all down the street by his privates as an example of what happens when you mess with USA. A.J. Guest guest
Nostradamus wrote thousands of manuscripts which are hard to interpret or make much since out of because he used French mixed with Latin, Greek, and Celtic. Thus, there are several interpretations of this passage, this is only one. I can look at a scribble that my baby daughter makes and see The-Bear-Ha-Cha-Cha, Monalisa, or an ambulance. It's the same with Nostraudamus. We all need to keep in mind that the only way a human based prophecy is fulfilled, is that it is self fulfilled. Everybody needs to remember that cool heads prevail, and the only prophecy we need to think about the one by the son of Jewish Carpenter over 2000 years ago.
