Guest guest
Janet, I don't think that the birth of my daughter was what caused the adhesions to return. I think I was just more prone to having them return and it would have happened regardless. In fact, I would think that having an obviously open cavity for so long (from the pregnancy) would have made me LESS likely to re-scar. Guest guest
-Janet: You said " I can't get a break! " and " Maybe I should take this as a sign! " Well, maybe this is your " break " and maybe this is your " sign " that you should go ahead with this surrogate. All " signs " seem to be pointing you toward her....and you say that you trust her and can afford her....so I say Go For It! Just think, if you go ahead and use her as a surrogate, you could have your baby by next Christmas! I'm not saying to give up on having a biological child...but that doesn't seem to be in the cards for this month at least....even if your scar tissue hasn't reformed, not having a period after Provera would mean you have some significant lining and/or hormone issues to deal with, issues that will take some time to resolve, if they can ever be resolved. And, if your scarring has reformed, then you're looking at another surgery and more time.....so, in either case you are looking at months for any resolution to your own biological issues....if there even is a possible resolution. (Please understand I'm not trying to be negative here....just realistic). So, why not use this surrogate that you trust and get going NOW!? Just my two cents worth.....good luck in making your decision! Gwen __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Janet: Well, I'm very sorry to hear about the return of your scar tissue. We are in the same boat. (More on that in my next message) BUT, I am happy that at least you seem to have a viable option available to you for a child in the near future. I know it must be hard to face the " closure " of this part of your life...but remember, that it is your choice. You certainly can change your mind and decide to keep trying and go through more surgery (or surgeries) in an attempt to restore your own uterus. BUT, I do not fault you at all for thinking you may be " done " with surgery. I am quickly approaching that point myself and I've only had 1 surgery so far...there just gets to be a point with every Asherman's victim where enough is enough and that point is different for every one of us. Some will push forward and keep trying and have surgery after surgery and I admire their strength and their resolve. But I also know that is not me. The point is quickly approaching for me when I will have given this " my best shot " and if I still can't maintain an open uterus then I am going to " close " this chapter in my life too and look at other alternatives whether that be surrogacy or adoption or deciding that there are worse things than a one-child family and getting a puppy or something! I know that making this decision doesn't make the pain of Asherman's go away, but at least it is an ending of sorts, and a beginning of your surrogacy journey! I am very excited for you that you have found a woman that you like and trust and an afford! Please don't go anywhere - we needs lots of success stories, and a successful surrogacy is a great one! Good luck Janet, and keep us up-to-date! (And Happy Holidays to you!) Gwen __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Janet: I don't see it as you giving up at all - you are simply making the choice that is best for your body, your psyche and your family. You are making a choice which has the best chance of getting you another child in the shortest timefram possible and with the least amount of trauma to your body. You have been through a lot. Four surgeries and multiple miscarriages. You have really put your body " through the wringer " as they say. Your decision to pursue surrogacy is not giving up at all to me. Giving up would be doing nothing and lamenting the fact that you have no more children. You are doing just the opposite. You are taking dramatic, costly, emotional steps to expand your family. Whether you do it using your own uterus or someone else's you are still making difficult decisions and going through stressful times to secure another child. In no way is that giving up! I admire your strength. Going through 4 surgeries and the miscarriages also and still finding the courage to go through surrogacy as well. You are a very brave, determined woman and you should be proud of yourself. I will give this second surgery a try and we'll see. I don't think I'm strong enough to go through 4 surgeries myself only to keep scarring over again. I just don't think I could face that repeated disappointment over and over again. Enjoy your holidays with your lovely little girl and I hope they are filled with love and hope! Guest guest
Hi Janet, I'm new to the group and from reading some messages I learned that you had a m/c at 19 weeks. I am so sorry. I was just about to sign a surrogacy contract after having 3 m/c in the past 8 months, when I found out I was pregnant again. I am 7 weeks now and have seen a heartbeat for the first time. Could you tell me why you miscarried, if you know and it's not too painful. I want to have as much knowledge as possible to try to prevent a m/c if I can. My lining is 11.5mm right where the embryo is, but then as thin as 2mm in another part of my uterus. If you have any questions about surrogacy, please let me know. Guest guest
<<She told me not to worry about the bill.....now the @)($*@#$'s at her office won't even give me all my medical file (with her notes and all) unless I pay them $200 or so.>> Janet -- THIS I can help with. They're trying to charge you for copying your records. If you can, have a different doctor request them, then get the copies from him. Doctors don't seem to charge doctors for the copying, only patients. An approach my primary care told me when he decided I needed to carry my records with me; half of his work for me has involved finding ways AROUND the system. And BTW, I appreciate him even more these days....but I hate the system more and more. Unfair, unjust, and plain outdated. L, Mark

I would call it a cure just for the psychological uplift. Lets be honest if your disease was controlled only by diet wouldnt you feel alot better? Janet needs to monitor her bg on occassion just to be safe! She can buy strips over the counter that is inexpensive.
