Guest guest
, that was my intent when setting up this list.....a bootcamp buddies type in email form. I struggle though because I know people hurt, and I don't have the umph it takes to get strict. I do like discussion, because I think we learn from it. I do want to help those that struggle. So what's the answer? Since I started again, I have been 100% OP. There have been 2 days where I didn't get all my fruits and veggies in, but I still consider myself totally OP. I do want the list to be open to everyone, because I do think we plant seeds. Some people don't know how to be OP all the time. I don't want to exclude them because I think they learn from those of us who are OP. On the other hand, it gets frustrating when we're working SO hard (and it IS hard) being OP, and hearing others that aren't or are cheating. I don't know what the answer is. I do know our posts should reflect the group's description, and that's what I hopefully said in my last post. So....ideas, comments, opinions, please. Perhaps the moderators need to have a pow-wow? Maybe we need to come up with some new policies here? We can be nice and serious at the same time! Lyn Re: Opinions Please - Another opinion When I signed on to this list, it was because the 'teaser' statement on Yahoo gave me the impression this was a no-nonsnese place to practice the WW program....among others who felt the same. Guess not; too bad........>> I agree with you Tony, I was hoping this was going to be the equivalent of Bootcamp Buddies on an email list:( Does anything like that exist? Guest guest
So....ideas, comments, opinions, please. Perhaps the moderators need to have a pow-wow? Maybe we need to come up with some new policies here? We can be nice and serious at the same time!>> Well, first I want to outline this by saying that I " m not advocating anyone leave the list. But perhaps a less " that's okay you can just start over " approcah could be taken by those answering posts and turn it more into a " did you learn from your mistakes/what will you do to ensure that your behavior reflects your future goals " I am of the no-nonsense 24/7 on plan camp, and I take all of this very seriously. There are a lot of lists and messageboards that encourage whining about how " hard " it is and how it's okay to cheat and fall of the wagon, and people get lots of support and enabling of bad habits that lead to failure. It would be great if this wasn't one of those kind of places, however that can only happen if it's what the membership wants. Just something to think about - it's the way I follow the plan. No matter what happens on the list I know that I " m going to suceed, because I take this so seriously. I just really enjoy spending time in places where others feel the same way. Guest guest
I'll throw my two cents in for this.... I am much more of a lurker than a poster, even in face to face discussions I listen in way more than I talk. I have been booted out of other Yahoo groups because I rarely post but I like to be here so if you decide to get more 'serious' on the list, please let us lurkers remain. If I do post, I intend to stay on the 'serious' topic. TJay > So....ideas, comments, opinions, please. Perhaps the moderators need to have a pow-wow? Guest guest
The only time I have ever booted anyone was when they were causing problems. I own 7 groups, and that is my policy on all groups. I, too, am on many groups where I just lurk. You're more than welcome to stay. Please remember this, though. Sometimes, as lurkers, we might have something beneficial to say that could help someone else....so please don't hesitate to post if you feel passionate about something. We learn from each other. And one final thing to everyone: I think we've all got the point now about the " seriousness " of our serious list! Guest guest
I agree, sometimes I just lurk, but get soooo much out of the group and don't want to be " booted " . This group is a *big* motivator for me and I want to thank you all for that! amy Re: was Opinions Please/now Group Direction I'll throw my two cents in for this.... Guest guest
I'm another lurker that hopes she won't get booted for not posting. I really get so much from this list and I cheer for each of your successes, but due to too many other lists and time constraints, I rarely post. I hope a new rule isn't instituted that bans lurkers. But, I would imagine that out of 720 members, only about 20-30 are regular posters anyway. There are apparently a lot of people who benefit from this list but don't post. I'm sure I'm in good company out there in lurkerland.
