Guest guest
Hi, I have a 3 year old ASD son who is currently on his 2nd round of chelation (by me). He saw a new doctor today who said that these 2 rounds of chelation should be enough because " kids have very small amounts of mercury in them. " He recommended my son have a urine test and if there was no mercury that would show that " all the mercury is gone. " I thought mercury wouldn't necessarily show up in his urine, and how could he be " done " after 2 rounds of chelation? My son did improve physically when he went on the GFCF diet 5 months ago (although he's still autistic and nonverbal). The doctor said his autism was caused by the prior 2 years, 11 months of eating the " wrong " foods, and it would just take a lot of time on the diet to undo what those foods did. I am further confused, because I thought it was mercury that destroyed the enzymes needed to digest those foods in the first place. Can anyone give me some insight? Isn't chelation ideally getting to the root of the problem? Should I get the urine test? And is it ok to continue chelating based on the hair & OAT results I got, which did indicate mercury and other metals? Thanks in advance, Amy (Noah's mom)
