My only thought would be if you were to lower ratio, protien stablizes blood

sugar better over longterm than carbs. And might also avoid problem some kids

have - lower the ratio, give more carbs, get seizures. Might want to try lower

the ratio to increase protien and keep carbs the same and see what that does.

so I think they would think that 59 was perfect (as far as seizure control is

concerned). We are always supposed to check in the morning before breakfast and

then in the evening after the last meal of the day. I think it would make sense

that macadamia nuts would hold her longer than sugar-free jello and egg

whites.... since there is no fat at all in them and there is in the nuts. I

don't really know though. We don't do snacks usually. I know that some kids (not

necessarily Keto kids) are sensitive to artificial coloring and sweeteners and

have behavior problems related to that. Maybe you could try taking the jello

away for a week or so and see. Do you think that she absolutely must be on a 4:1

ratio in order to get seizure control? I was just wondering because if it was

lowered slightly, she would get just a little bit more carbs in each meal and

that would bring the blood sugar up a bit in general I think.

diet 6 to 8 months...... and they also almost never even start anyone on

4:1....... they regard that as being a higher ratio than most kids need. As far

as the really large ketones at night...... could that be related to hydration? I

know Katera's run really dark if she doesn't drink enough.
