Guest guest
So everyone can get an idea of how much we all vary and for comfort to see others who have similar problems (be it TSH rising extremely fast or extremely slow) My TSH was 73 after 3 weeks of no synthroid. My TSH was a .3 before I went off. How bout you? If I do a " cold turkey " scan (no Cytomel), I usually get to about 125.
Guest guest
my TSH climbs slowly... the first time after surgery, after 6 weeks it got to 34 - the second time i went hypo for my RAI after 6 weeks off synthroid it got to 28 (they did the RAI anyway a few days later) the third time it got to 22 after 6 weeks off synthroid, they did the scan a few days later anyway... normally its < .1 when i'm on my synthroid it will be interesting to see what it is now that i've switched to levoxyl... barb

I've also switched from Synthroid to Levoxyl after my withdrawal scan. bj
Guest guest
We all absorb medication differently. However, in our own very small select group of thycans who attend the Phoenix support group we are finding that identical dosages of levoxyl and synthroid are producing a more suppressed number with levoxyl. And in each case, the patient has felt significantly better on levoxyl. Guest guest
Greetings--- I am on .175 mg Levothroid (which replaced Levoxyl during one refill, per the HMO; never been on synthroid, except maybe in the hospital) I am apparently very suppressed at a level of .002. Is that possible? My dosage is too high for the long-term but since I still have 6 tiny spots in the neck, they're leaving me at that dose until after another RAI. The tg is at 13 and rising. I have no side affects that they can tell at this point other than being a little more tired than I was pre-TT. > > Re: TSH survey > > > > > > normally its < .1 when i'm on my synthroid > > > > > > it will be interesting to see what it is now that i've switched to > > levoxyl... > > > > > > > Do you mean -- what will it be on the " same dose " of Levoxyl or will > > you have to take a different amount to get <.1? > > > > I've also switched from Synthroid to Levoxyl after my withdrawal scan. > > bj
Guest guest
Judy - I don't understand why your doctor thinks your dosage is too high. TSH .002 is on the low side of suppressed (typically, less than .10), but it's a good number, as long as you aren't having any symptoms, and don't have any contraindications to such a low TSH. Do you know what TSH your doctor thinks is ideal for you? - NYC (TT 2/99 dx pap/foll; RAI 100 mCi 3/99 & 4/00; current TSH ~.06 on .225 levothyroxine)

Guest guest
: I was admitted for RAI on March 29 only three weeks after my TT (March 10). My admitting TSH was over 100.
