April,

I have been reading your blog. Can I ask you your age? Some of the things or symptoms you list about yourself sounds like perimenapause. You ought to goggle it and match the symptoms.

Just wanted to say WELCOME to the new members. I've been sort of MIA lately, but lurking... For those who are new, I have a blog too at April's Blog and I update it regularly with a myriad of things, mostly to do with my journey as a recovering dieter/binger and learning to become an intuitive eater.

Here's a crosspost from Diet Survivors for those of you who are not members there. I highly recommend it. The moderator, Moran is awesome, and wrote a great book about IE.

Here's my latest posts on my blog.

Had an almost-binge:

Nope! I haven't had diet soda, or any artificial sweeteners for that matter, since the beginning of May! Almost 3 months... I don't even think about it anymore and once I made up my mind that it was out of my diet for good, that was it, I don't crave it or anything... I love having club soda and unsweetened cranberry juice now instead, or herbal organic teas... The juice is good for my kidneys, and not sickly sweet either like regular soda.

Peri- menopause can start early. You might want to check it out on the internet.

Are you still addicted to diet sodas? I have been doing great without my diet pop fix for over a week now. I am elated. I am a born again Christian also, and I started getting on my knees in prayer daily and with that I have seen victories over strongholds in my life. Diet pop I used for times when I wasn’t hungry, but needed something. I was having nagging problems (oppression) with eating thoughts when I wasn’t hungry and I started quoting scripture like Jesus did when he was tempted and then drinking some water. After about 2 days the oppression left me. I haven’t needed the diet pop since.

The diet pop was harming my teeth. I think it was all the carbonation. I am particular about my teeth and I want to keep them.

Did you see what I posted on my blog about aspartame?

I would say my memory has improved a tiny bit. I'm also taking lecithin, which is supposed to improve memory. I'm also in my third semester of school, so I'm not finding it as challenging to remember things when I study as much as I did when I first started. It had been almost 10 years since I had taken any courses, so it took a while to get back into the swing of things. Another thing I've done that has helped is I play scrabble online. I find the brain stimulation has really helped my memory, and I don't struggle to find words I want as much as I used to. The link to the scrabble site I use online is in the sidebar in my blog if you're interested... I find it relaxing and stimulating at the same time...

Hey Vicki ... I could use some of the verses you used to get over a pop addiction! If you want, email me offlist: simj26@...

I've had such a hard time cutting down on my intake of Coca-Cola ... I know it isn't good for me, and it causes all sorts of trouble (lack of sleep, hightened anxiety issues, etc).

I just got Beth 's book, "Breaking Free" -- it's all about breaking strongholds. Maybe I should just read that.... :-?

Being lazy here... Do you use the Internet Scrabble Club site? www.isc.ro It's my fave! I'm "Books04" there, but I'm not often on. I'll play anyone, if you want, but you'll just have to email me first to let me know when. :o)

Yes, I read your blog that is why I was asking you about how you were doing with the aspartame. My memory is so foggy that I can’t think of the right word for something. I was reading more about the aspartame issue on doorway.com and it is scary. I have noticed use of aspartame in foods you wouldn’t even consider diet or sugar free.

I will have to try scrabble.
