Guest guest
Dear , I wish I could help you with your questions about LP. I just thought that I'd let you know that I learned a lot from your information. I have had from time to time, cold sore type things in my mouth ( always several at a time) and what felt like a burned and swollen tongue many times in my life, especially over the last few years. I used to figure that I was fighting off some kind of cold or virus ( I work with 40 kids as a private music teacher). I never thought for a second that this might relate to my VV or IC. I've started to keep a simple journal about what goes on with my body, so that I can figure out what I can do to help myself, and now I'll include this (kind of a sore mouth/ sore tongue thing) with my symptoms. THanks so much, I hope you get some more answers.

Guest guest
, << I have had from time to time, cold sore type things in my mouth ( always several at a time) and what felt like a burned and swollen tongue many times in my life, especially over the last few years. >> A red and swollen tongue can also be a form of Thrush. I had a patient that had this and I didn't think about it being Thrush at the time. I sent him in to see the doctor and came back with a prescription for Nystatin. I was kind of embarrassed at the time, as I had been studying up on yeast problems for a year or more when I saw him and I didn't put the symptoms together until after the doctor visit. I did give him and his family the info about not eating sugar while taking the Nystatin, and he did recover quickly after that. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Dear Anne, I am attempting to seriously alter my diet by abstaining from sugar for a long while. Hope I make it! Sugar used to help pick me up when I was really tired. The meds make me feel exhausted and slowed down all the time. In the past, I might have craved sugar. Now, I think I'll see if I feel better for staying away from it.
Guest guest
, If you need help with the diet, please feel free to visit my website and print out the Diet page. Also feel free to E-mail me with any questions you may have. I will give you all the support I can. I have succeeded with this for over 2 years, now, so may have a few tips that may help. Just be aware that the sugar that is naturally in fruit can set up a craving for other sugary foods. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Dear Anne, thanks for the diet tips. I'm going to see how I can incorporate these into my diet. The IC diet is pretty restrictive already, as well as the vulvodynia diet, low oxalates. I think I have about six actual things I can eat, when before I ate regularly from the five food groups. Since changing my diet is the ONE thing that I CAN DO, I'm going to saee how it works. Thanks for your help. I used to not eat red meat or eggs.....and now that seems to be one of the few things left. I'm learning to eat things I never have before. Anyone have any ideas?
