very late period - very early miscarriage

I think I may be having a very early miscarriage. I am about 3-4 days

since when AF was due(defenitely know when I ovulated, I was 18 dpo)

and have started bleeding clots with some cramps. If anyone else has

gone through this I would like some advice on whether this will be

like normal AF in length (I am concerned this will go on for a long

time as the body tries to minimize the loss of blood). I am not

having severe pains yet, and am hoping it will be no worse than

regular AF :-(

Also, any other reasons for why these chemical pregnancies happen

other than the usual chromosomonal culprits?

Thanks all, for a day or two there I was starting to get my hopes up.

Meera- Have you called you doc yet? I cannot

remember what you anomaly is, but I know that

sometimes with BU/UD etc. it is possible to bleed from

one side of the uterus withouth harming the pregancy.

If it is a mc...my sister had a very early miscarriage

about 18-19 dpo. I think it basically was a heavier

than normal period- not nearly as much bleeding as a

mc that occurs later. On a positive note, she got pg

the very next cycle and had a baby boy nine months

later.

Meera,

I am sorry to hear this. I know you must be

disappointed.

From what I understand, very early miscarriages go

undetected most of the time, which to me would

indicate that your AF should be about normal length,

although maybe a little heavy. Just speculation of

course.

Take care of yourself.
