Hi Bob, chelation takes a LONG time--- like 6 months to 2 years. So, my guess (and it IS a guess) is that waiting till you are done is " out " if these things are very bothersome. I think it is up to you and is a " case by case " basis---- depending on how much trouble a symptom is, how treatable it is, how much the treatment costs, etc etc. Also bear in mind that many things may be significantly helped by chelation---- so that is a reason not to wait too long to do the chelation. just my thoughts on it. Guest guest Posted December 16, 2001 Report Share Posted December 16, 2001 Bob, I don't know about your other diagnoses but mercury toxicity interferes with thyroid function so may be causing your T3 level to register low. Getting rid of the mercury may restore it to normal. If you have mercury amalgam dental fillings (silver ones that turn black) you need to have them out (by proper protocol) before you do chelation.
