Guest guest
I love this IE much so much, I'm just wondering why it hasn't caught on more. I wish I could "rescue" all those people at the forum I used to visit who are so hung up on their diets. (But I know better than preaching to anyone unless thye ask!) But I guess I can answer my own question-- it all comes down to money. The ads for weight loss "things" overshadow everything because there is money involved. No one makes any money if you just say, "eat whatever you want when you're hungry, and eat until you're satified." They only make money if they say you will ONLY be skinny if you buy this or buy that. My Intuitive Eating Blog Yahoo! Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Try it free. Guest guest
I find I can't watch weight loss shows anymore because it's one commercial after another (why did I notice that before? Was I SO desperate that I turned off my common sense?!), and when my WW magazine came last month (I've been a subscriber for YEARS), I read about 5 pages and had to throw it out, cause every single page (even the articles!) were just an ad for their company... LOL Funny how I never noticed that before!!!!! I only have one more magi coming and I'm NOT renewing my subscription this year.... hehe -----Original Message-----From: IntuitiveEating_Support [mailto:IntuitiveEating_Support ]On Behalf Of McKenzieSent: Friday, July 07, 2006 8:32 AMTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Subject: popularity I love this IE much so much, I'm just wondering why it hasn't caught on more. Guest guest
Oh, I sooooo know what you mean! I'm soooo pumped about IE that I rave about it to anyone and everyone, and it drives people (mainly my overweight family) nutty! LOL. But, I just can't help it! I love the freedom it brings, and can't stand to see other people still "bound" by dieting "rules"! I wanna set 'em all free! LOL That's a big part of why I created this group. Because I really want to help people get "free" of dieting forever! Whatever I can do to help, I'm there! ) My blog has been super-helpful, too! A lot of people have come either here, or to the TW-Support group thanks to my blog. ) And I'm terribly grateful! ) It drives me MOST crazy, though, when my family SEES what IE has done for me -- how I've gone from a size 12 to a size 8 -- and yet they won't even TRY this! But, like you said, I can't push them or preach at them. That will never work. They have to be ready.... they have to reach the "end"... before they'll go for this as a "last resort". But, I'll be waiting! LOL Jenn <>< -----Original Message----- I love this IE much so much, I'm just wondering why it hasn't caught on more. Guest guest
I've also been spreading the word. Most people say they " can't " do it. YES YOU CAN. It's just that most people don't want to do it. It's hard to look your issues head on and take control, but that's what needs to happen in order to change.

Guest guest
Well, I think people who count calories, etc, get addicted to that " control " and they think Intuitive Eating will make them " lose control " -- which is a very scary thing for people who that's all they know. Guest guest
April, between March and June, I probably bought every weight loss, fitness, health magazine known to women and I SO agree with you! I hate to look at them now. In fact, yesterday I was in Kmart and reached down and picked up the new copy of one of them and the diet stuff was so glaring on the front page that I just put it back down. Guest guest
I couldn't agree more. It's hard to explain that this will help them gain control instead of lose it. I know how hard it is to deal with food issues. > > > > I've also been spreading the word. Most people say they " can't " do > > it. YES YOU CAN. Guest guest
You're really lucky then, , 'cause that's the part that a lot of people -- me, included! -- have the most trouble with ... stopping at "satisfied" / 5. Jenn <>< -----Original Message----- for some reason this last week that I've been doing IE, I really haven't had any problems stopping eating when I'm full. I'm not sure why, but I sure hope I can keep it up! http://mizbooksreads.blogspot.com http://intuitive-eating.blogspot.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/IntuitiveEating_Support * NEVER DIET AGAIN! *
