Guest guest
Thanks alot Gwen, I am now more confident than ever that seeing this specialist is the best thing to do. Hearing stories like yours and others have given me much hope that my uterus may be fixable. However, as I said in an earlier e-mail, my eggs are getting old (I only had 4 viable embryos out of 14 eggs in my last IVF cycle 2 years ago) so I can't wait to see if my ability to carry a child returns. I will have to pursue both surrogacy and fixing my uterus at the same time. In parallel, not in series so to speak. I will try both and hopefully one option will bear fruit. Maybe both will....what a lovely thought. Your thoughts are most welcome....Thanks again. Jilly, I read the e-mails regarding your predicament with breastfeeding. I breastfed for 9 months and my son also did very well after being weaned. He was fussy about formula (hated it) so I tried soy based formula and he loved it. Also, as a compromise, I pumped and saved over a months worth of breastmilk in my freezer. This is easy to do and if you feel strongly that you want to give your child more mama's milk then try storing some away. Then you can wean earlier and get your potential Ashermans taken care of at the same time. Good luck and if you decide to stop breastfeeding, your baby will do just fine. First, I am so sorry to hear your news. But everyone else is right, don't despair! I heard similar news. When I had my first HSG done (or at least the first attempt at one) the doctor who was trying to perform it couldn't even get the catheter in place and announced, very loudly and very casually, "Well....if this is Asherman's it's the worst case I've ever seen!! Your uterus is entirely obliterated!" Thank you very much for that news kind doctor! I cried for days.....I started crying there on the examination table in fact and he had the GAUL to ask me WHY I was crying?! Ugh!! My current RE....was able to remove the scarring and restore an "open" cavity and I am now having periods and preparing to undergo IVF so THERE IS HOPE! I agree with Corrina whole-heartedly. Explore all your options, see the specialist and exhaust all your possible remedies. And then, if it is meant to happen, it will. And if not....there must be a "larger plan" in operation here. I firmly believe that....I know others may not, but I am certain that there is a reason for everything, even if we can't see it right now. Hang in there, and let us know what your specialist says!
