Hello:

My name is Jodi, and I just joined the group. I'm having a good day, so I have enough energy to type a short introduction. I'm 32 years old. I'm married and have a daughter who is nine. I've been diabetic for almost twenty years, and have had hypothyroidism for about nine. I believe that I've had CFIDS for about five years. It's always been easy for the doctors to blame my vague symptoms on the diabetes and hypothyroidism, even when blood tests have proven that these disorders are in good control. I haven't had an official diagnosis yet, other than myofascial pain. My next appointment is on Friday, and I'm trying to gear up to go in there (yet again). I've printed out several sheets on symptoms and diagnosis criteria to take along with me. Hopefully, I'll have some success in getting a diagnosis so that I can (try to) move forward.

I look forward to being part of this group.

Jodi

Hi, :

Thanks for the nice welcome. I'm looking forward to having contact with others who know what life, or lack thereof, is like. Someone in another group mentioned having my Rnase levels checked ... Can you, or anyone else, tell me what this is?

Jodi

COULD THEY HAVE MEANT ANA? IF THAT'S IT IT SHOULD BE

STANDARD TO TEST U WITH IT. IT IS TO TEST FOR

INFLAMATORY (AUTOIMMUNE) DISEASE, LIKE LUPUS & RA.

WHICH HAVE TO BE RULED OUT--ALTHOUGH YOU CAN HAVE

LUPUS & FMS AT THE SAME TIME. A FMS DX IS DECIDED ON

ONCE EVERYTHING ELSE HAS BEEN RULED OUT & IF YOU HAVE

A CERTAIN # OF TENDER POINTS & A COUPLA OTHER THINGS I

CAN'T REMEMBER RIGHT NOW...U DO NEED AN ANA TEST FOR

SURE. ....

OH, NOT SHOUTING--WE USE CAPS SO SOME OF US CAN READ

THE TEXT BETTER. GOOD LUCK, CARO

HI, CARO:

THANKS FOR THAT INFORMATION. I ASSUME THIS IS THE TEST THAT I WAS REFERRED TO. I'LL TAKE THIS INFORMATION WITH ME TO THE DOCTOR ON FRIDAY. I'M TRYING TO GEAR UP TO GO, BUT A DOCTOR'S VISIT ALWAYS CAUSES SO MUCH ANXIETY. I'M SURE THAT MOST OF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN.

HI, BETSY:

I LIVE IN WISCONSIN. I'VE BEEN HAVING CFS SYMPTOMS FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS. A FEW WEEKS AGO, I CAME ACROSS SOME SITES WITH SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS CRITERIA ... I WAS SO HAPPY THAT I CRIED. IT WAS LIKE LOOKING IN A MIRROR. NOT SURE WHAT DD STANDS FOR (SORRY), BUT I HOPE THAT I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION.
