Guest guest
And we had a pretty good time! We took Star. I was really nervous about them telling us we couldn't bring her in, but they just asked if she was a service dog and we said yes and that was that. There were some places we couldn't take her because she would frighten the animals. The lions were not on the list of animals she couldn't see but, well, I would not recommend it. Mikey was golden until the end, when he was tired and hungry and the leash around his waist was chafing him. But we had been there for 5 hours...I used the nylon leash that clips around his waist because I wanted the sling for Gabe. But in the end I rigged the sling up. It does seem a lot more comfortable but I can't vary the length like with the nylon. The tidal pool was open and Mikey loved it. We must have been there for an hour. The zoo workers and I chatted quite a bit and they gave him a shell to take home. He tried to take a starfish too...heh heh heh. They were really interested in Star & asked some nice questions. At the elephant house a zoo worker came up and was making smooching noises & saying, " Hi, puppy! " and bent over and held out her hands. Star turned her head & looked & I tugged on her leash & said, " Star, pay attention. " And she did. And the lady left. Everyone else at the zoo was fine, though. Matt said we got some looks but I didn't really notice. (Wow.) When we got home I took Star's new harness off and found some of the stitching had come loose! So we will be making a trip across town today to have them look at it. I really don't remember when we got it, isn't that awful? I looked on our online bank statement & the payment was on 4/2 - so that was, what, 8 days ago!! I'm going to go call them now. Later, -Sara.
