Guest guest
Andy & All, We completed 8 rounds of DMSA on our 6.3 year-old daughter with neither negative nor positive observations. After 3 rounds at 25mg of DMSA every 4 hours, 3/4, we increased the dosage to 50mg for the next 5 rounds. Questions: Do you agree that a positive change usually/always occurs only after the addition of lipoic acid (ALA)? When is it reasonable to expect to see a positive change, however small? After how many cycles with no positive results should chelation be stopped? Andy had once said that he saw no reason for urine testing as a step prior to the addition of ALA. The DDI Urine Toxic Profile test determines how much mercury and other toxic metals are being excreted in the urine. If the values are low, ALA may be added, since body burden is low. What's wrong with this protocol? Do you agree with the DAN crowd that ALA causes toxic metals to be excreted through bile, impairing gut defenses and causing some children to regress due to the effects of gut bugs? If not, what causes some children to regress when ALA is added? Many thanks. Mireille
