Guest guest
Sandy, Did you get a period after your recent surgery? My uterus is still T-shaped after two surgeries for severe Asherman's. I am considering a third surgery. Despite the shape of my uterus I still have a 4 day menstrual cycle. Best of luck, Ann
Guest guest
Hi Ann No, I didn't have a period after the surgery. I haven't had one since Sept/99. You mentioned you might consider a third surgery. Have they tried to insert a balloon to keep the uterine walls from adhering together? Have the Dr's given you any idea if this is something they can fix for you? Hope you don't mind all the questions Thanks Sandy
Guest guest
Sandy, I have had the balloon inserted twice and my adhesions are stubborn. I do have a period every month but I also have a small t-shaped cavity. The doctor does not think my cavity will get much better, but I figure 1) doctors don't know everything and 2) what do I have to lose. Plus in almost all the journal articles I read it is necessary to get rid of severe adhesions with from 1-3 surgeries. That being said we are also aggressively looking into adoption. Take care, Ann
Guest guest
Ann, It is quite surprising that your uterus is T-shapped and you can still have a 4 day mentrual cycle. Sandy have you stopped taking the oestrogen tablets? Because if you are still taking them, I believe that is the reason why you may not be menstruating. I think you are right Sandy with regards to doctors not knowing everything. Ann, are you still going to the adoption agency on the 6th? Let us know what happens. Best of luck to you all. I've done a lot of praying this past year. I've also said a prayer at church today for all of you, all the victims of ashermans. I'll keep you all in my prayers, and thank you again Poly for letting me into your group! I hope your APPT in the UK is a successful one! Guest guest
Lynette, I also had the balloon inserted after two hysteroscopies. It was filled with air not water but I know it is done both ways. My doctor removed it and it was not painful at all. The only symptom I had was a slight pressure in my uterus while it in place. The end of the balloon (the part that is sipped to release the air/water) hangs down in the vaginal area. My RE tucked it up into my vagina so it would not " hang out. " I have heard others who had it hanging outside. Good luck! Celeste
Guest guest
Celeste, were you in a lot of pain before the " balloon " ? It seems like a year straight I have been in pain, one thing after another. Im afraid but I know its worth the chance to have this done and get this IUD out. Maybe the reason I have so much pain is the IUD. Do you know anythig about this ? Lynnette
